Hiya Turtle, are you planning to come to a track day soon?? By the sounds of it you can't be too slow or too fast. Besides 1000rr riders are treated as gods, given all sorts of gifts and presented with naked umbrella girls when lined up at pit lane. :)

Theres a rider training day on the 10th, not an official RATs organised event but one none the less... a few from Wollongong are going (inc me).. interested? price between $265 and $280.

Was doing 1:46`s on slix before I crashed big time.
Still reluctant to get too much drive out of corners and thats where I`m losing time ATM. Done a couple of 1:51`s on the weekend and still had a ball.

I can't do that Zee. I have to concentrate on the corners, so I just count on the straight bits! :lmao:

I'll answer that by saying that Kevin Curtain does 1:41 in the wet during a race there!

Super bike top guns are in the 1.31's at EC but anything under 1.50 your doing a fair speed.

I did 1:33s on Honda Superbike when I was 17 in 2001.

As far as a street bike goes, I've done 1:38s a few times but usually around 1:40.

Fastest street bike I've seen is Allerton on standard Blade with Supercorsa tyres and he did a 1:35.8!

I have a modified CBR250RR trackie running BT009 tyres, fresh engine and NSR 250 front end. My best time (hand timed) was 1.59. I had a few people timing me by hand and they said my times were very consistent.

I was pushing my hardest and I don't think I can improve unless I did a course on corning. I think I'm a little too twitching around the corners.

Some improvements could also come from some suspension mods, but where do you stop?

End of the day I have a ball on the track.

Very true. The fun I have now just testing for the AMCN and riding in the 1:40s is much more enjoyable than going like a maniac pushing yourself to the extreme to do 33s back then, which was about as fast as it got in 2001.

Whether I do 1:38 now or 1:44 or whatever I may feel like doing on the day, I have never had more fun on the bike in my life. :ayyy:

Have ridden EC about 6 times now since first going there Sept 07. Started at High 1:40s and have gotten down to a 1:42 flat.

GPS lap timing shows my fastest lap was nearly 2 seconds slower in Sector 2 than a slower lap I had done in that same session......gotta hook all those fast sectors together would easily crack into the 1:38-39s but anything more than that is going to be a bit harder to find....basically need more 'bum in seat' time to iron out the bike and learn the track that bit more.....

I was doing pretty consistent 1:55-56's on the FZR400 which I think is not too shabby for a 22 year old 400. The bike probably had a little more in it, but I'm not good enough to get it......

I'm still sorting the CBR600F3 (I brought it in boxes really cheap) but I'm doing just under the 2 mins on it now and it has heaps more.
