Remember working in a wreckers when I was 16... Sold the Brake levers for an RD250 for 5 pound and ones for the 250/250 LC's for 10 pounds....
Same lever, just the LC owners had a bit more cash oin their wallets.....
Learnt that lesson early on life...... :ayyy:

when ya do ya sums... its actually on par wih what ya pay for exhausts on other bikes(% wise anyway)
ie 20k for and R1 = 2+k for a full system about 10% of purchase cost
100k for desmo = 10k exhaust = 10%
not that that makes it seem any cheaper anyway:lmao:

What is laughable is the Desmo was already meant to be state of the art closest thing to a motogp bike which was reason for price tag. Now there selling better exhaust systems :lmao:

Good for you if you can afford one, but the 'bang for your buck' equation always gets me..

The standard system would have had to comply with adr's so it would be no where near as good as it could be.
Not that laughable!

If akra was only ever going to sell a hand full of exhausts for the new R1 the price would be the same.
Its supply, demand, turn over etc

Its supply, demand, turn over etc
And R&D costs, which would've included buying a bike.

hang on, it ain't just the exhaust, you get that system and the right side faring and an ecu............ you look at the Termi systems for most Ducs that come with an ecu they ain't exactly cheap either. Not saying it's worth the Money but it isn't just for the exhaust. On the other hand the ecu "mapped to the pipe work" to me is a waste of time anyway coz you'll still get more from it being mapped properly once installed, so why not just use the stock ECU and have that mapped???
On the other hand, I have some carbon fibre wheel weights for anyone with a Duc that wants to reduce the rotating mass of their wheels while still having them in perfect balance. $100 each. hahahahahahahaha

you get a new carbon tail piece and lower fairing as well as the pipes/ecu etc ..seen one last week.. not that it justifies the price...
