For those of you who don't live within driving distance of this weekends Motul sponsored first round of the Formula Xtreme TT series that is on this weekend at Winton Raceway in northern Victoria, we have a Formula Xtreme treat for you this Sunday on the high rating SBS Speedweek program.
AVE TV Productions in conjunction with AUSCO will run a one hour special from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm highlighting racing from last year's Formula Xtreme class at the ASC.
The FX class in 2008 ran a common set of class rules to the present 2009 Formula Xtreme class apart from the fact it was limited to B,C and D grade racers. The Formula Xtreme footage will be taken from the first two televised rounds of the 2008 Australian Superbike Championship series at Eastern Creek Raceway in NSW and Mallala Raceway in South Australia.
Along with that there will be a trip down memory lane with footage from some of the earliest Formula Xtreme races dating back over the seven years Formula Xtreme was a stand alone series from 1997 to 2003.
So if your not able to get to Winton this Sunday to see live the likes of Yamaha mounted Scott Charlton, Honda mounted Craig Coxhell, Ducati mounted Craig McMartin battle it out with the likes of current 2009 FX NSW Cup Champion Jason Kain and his Kawasaki team mates Jamie Aitken and Alex Tomassetti let alone one of the true young rising stars of road racing Grant Hay on his new 2009 Yamaha R1 then just turn on your TV set to SBS Speedweek from 2:00 pm and watch some excellent racing from previous Formula Xtreme races.
The other option is to set your VCR's and still come to the track so you don't miss any of the great racing either live or the televised Formula Xtreme retrospective.
As more information comes in from AVE TV regarding this weekends Formula Xtreme special as they put the show together we will update this story. We will also either late today or tomorrow have details of the on air time for the two one hours shows taken from this weekends Winton round.
Cheers,
Terry O'Neill
