View Full Version : Anti Fog Solutions
Hey guys,
What's the best solution for helmet fog up?
I've heard about a clear sheet that sticks on the inside of the visor, not sure how effective they are.
Cheers.

have used fog city and pin lock ones.
personally I preferred the pin lock ones, more annoying to install but never fogged up on me again and was available in differing colours. The orange 1 was good for day and night riding.
fog city was a sticky one that i found still fogged up and was not removable / replaceable

Any silicone cleaner i.e plexus etc will keep it fog free for a short period, like ride to and from work...
What helmet do you have as i really have no prob with any fogging no matter how cold it is?

Have you tried installing a breath guard?

Have you tried installing a breath guard?
:ayyy:yep the breath guards are the go and the higher up the guard goes the better to direct your breath downwards. My shoei is only a shortish one but does the job well ,i used most of the anti fog and fog city etc but the breath guard is the go.
Yeah I had a breath guard but it still seemed to fog up a bit...My helmet is a shoei Z-II..
I just bought an Rjays fog-free visor film, the bloke at MCA's says it's the same as the other brands just half the price at $14.95 plus an additional 10% discount which they are running in store...
I just applied it against the visor, not sure if I did it right, there seems to be a gap between the film and the visor it self, is this how it's supposed to fit??

i had afog city and loved it! untill i cleaned it :(
the anti fog stuff scratches. dont but a tinted one wither, or the transition ones.
Oxford make a cheaper version, they work ok, if it was for track i'd stick it inside my clear and leave my tinted standard.
on the road i stuck it inside my tinted and just got used to riding in the dark with it.

+1 for pinlock, and you can fit a tinted one - easy to remove if it gets dark on you and loocks the same as a tinted visor ;)
I've tried a Fogg Off breath guard and found it didn't work properly without much fiddling with fitment each time I put the helmet on. I wear specs too so if there was any minor leak around the bridge of the nose my lens would fog up immediately. I therefore found it restricted my breathing as I'd be forever trying to breath downwards.
Cat crap I had no joy with either. It just smeared onto the visor and if I rubbed it in too much it didn't work for long. Also it rubbed off easily.
I've been tempted by the anti-fog adhesive films but thought they'd make the overall visor a little blurry as they're not as clear as the visor plastic alone. Are the visor sticky lens any good?

A wee spot of washing up liquid on your finger. Rub it over the inside of your visor and you won't fog up for a day or so. Saying that, my X-11s don't fog up at all.
