This may sound silly, but go through and tighten all the bolts and screws on your bike (even bar ends), because people seem to lose stuff on track days!

dungbeetle
14-04-2007, 10:33 PM
yeh ill agree with pan there...everything is coming loose on my 600!!:(
and zee covered it. not sure if ya get a feed at race school, but i dont think ya do. if ya dont have slix then ya wont need stands and warnmers. they will supply some water, but bring some change for the drink machine if ya want fizzy. hat if its sunny cause ya go for a walk around the track, and if ya got a receding line like me, ya get burnt!!

Sometimes mine loses it rider. The first thing I do after I fall off is check what else fell off in the process.

dungbeetle
14-04-2007, 10:48 PM
my suzuki rattled the bolt out of the brake lever. the nut fell off and the bolt was sticking out when i came in from my first session out at phillip island. the session was cut short due to a crash, and i rolled into the pits, and saw the bolt undone and sticking out of the lever. one bump and the bolt and lever would have gone and i would have got to the end of the 300kph straight and had nuthin!!!:(
so i check everything now!!

pan
14-04-2007, 10:49 PM

1.28's

Thats right you counted in ya head ?? Didn't you ?

pan
14-04-2007, 11:20 PM
Not completely. I only counted on the straight bits.
It's too hard concentrating on corners and counting at the same time!

Isn't that cheating ????? In some countries you know the punishment is having to do a lap covered in chocolate while hundreds of hungry models will be chasing you to lick it off !!!!!

Zee
14-04-2007, 11:31 PM
That's it....I'm cheating from now on.

pan
14-04-2007, 11:31 PM
Hmmmmmmmmmm, chocolate.
Hmmmmmmmmmm, models....

Let the punishing begin...

Hey Turtle. I'd have to back up Mono's advise on this one, get some track experience at least before attempting a race school. For the $250 your about to part with, it could be better spent on two track days.
RATS have a ride going on the 29th of this month at OP, come out and play.
At the end of it all, be sensible with your decision making here and dont let your ego cloud your ability in what could turn out to be a costly or painful exercise.

Yes. I was (and am) just make sure you call them and remind them its a TRAINING day, ask for Chook, PM me if you have hassles as I'll give them my details - they insured me. Have them note your coverage on your policy.

They NEED to know its training, and not a track day, they stipulate that the instructors must be on track whenever your out - which they are all day anyway, they hated the thought of lap timers but after I gave them the cricuitbreakers site and told them about the classroom discussions they were fine.

dungbeetle
23-05-2007, 05:08 PM
do the creek mate. its the second best track in australia, next to pi, and its really big so ya get heaps of time to learn stuff!!
wakefield is small and bumpy. also very very fun but for a first time and on a road bike i wouldnt recommend it!!
