Looks good. Do you have a meeting point in town (around Balmain) or are we meeting at PITS around 11:30?

Can I make a suggestion? Why don't we leave earlier, so that we'll get to Wollomi before the lunch rush? Just a thought, up to you brother :ayyy:

James
19-08-2009, 03:11 PM
The Balmain meeting point is -
Bertonis Cafe, Darling Street Balmain @ 10:30

You'll see the bikes lined up and smell the good coffee brewing - so get there a bit earlier if you want a brew before we ride :ayyy:

Yeah these guys won best coffee so many times and are always on the Tim Bailey weather report (when he's not being bitch slapped by teenage girls) But James, Marky and me (sometimes Belinda) get down there a fair bit before a ride, great spot for a laugh. Only thing is your arse gets sore from sitting on Milk crates.:spank:

Let me just fill you in why Im not leaving earlier brother- I have a serious perve session booked in at the coffee shop whereupon I enjoy my fair share of beautiful young lady's who constantly tell me to "f**k off and stop looking at my.." Then when I know Ive ruined everyones day, I take my $3per/hr business elswhere. Belinda and Markyg can testify to this.

Basically I am compelled to create a shit storm and then leave.

But how early do ya wanna leave?

It was just a thought, the reasoning was that by the time you stop at PITS and waste 1/2 hr there etc, you're having lunch at 1:30 ... but if that's your usual time, no worries at all.
The wife tells me I'm a bit bossy, just ignore me :spank:

We are meeting a couple of riders at Wollombi at 1pm - so I guess it would be better to leave Bertonis at 10am. That should get us to PITS about 10:45am. Spend 1/2 an hour or so there and then get going to Wollombi for lunch.

Good idea cappy :ayyy:

George probably won't log on tonight as he's washing his hair :lmao: but we discussed it today and the plan is to be there by 1pm. No return route has been planned so see what the majority want to do

So back to my stomach..... what time to get to Balmain to allow me to eat and digest some breaky... ?? 9:00 ??

Yeh mate - we will get there about 9 or just before so will start to reserve some parking out the front . If you don't know where it is - just keep riding down Darling Street for about 1 kilometre once you turn off Victoria Road and it's on the left hand side across the road from the supermarket. We'll be the ones sitting on the milk crates.
They do a good Panini, called the Manini :)

Was a good turn out. My first RATS outing too... funny, I still knew a few of the people there today which was good. That cafe' in Balmain was one busy place but then again, so was the Old Road today. How may people were out!

Those wee R6's scream! Very impressive

P.S. Photo journos on every corner.

Great turn out today - the RATS bikes out the front of Bertonis was a real sight, some nice machinery owned by RATS members. I'll post up some photos when I get my hands on them later this week.

Hope everyone got home nice and safe. I rode back at a comfortable pace and only just caught up to Kris near Peats Ridge. Stopped at PITS for an ice block :)

Was a great day! My return journey was an event... Nearly ran outta fuel, so hopped onto the F3 to head back.. then I found a really violent vibration.. turns out the main bolt that holds my exhaust system had worked itself lose and decided to hang around between Wollomi and Hornsby...

Great to see everyone, thanks for organising George!

There were 2 photographers at that corner as you went up the hill , does anyone know who the other one was . I watched all you guys come past as I had pulled into that corner to watch everyone heading around that corner , sorry I couldn't join the trip up but I had a few things on in the arvo so had to do a quick run up and back .

No probs.. :ayyy:

In hindsight, If a group is leaving (as a group), then we just have to agree on first stopping point. I knew George wanted to refuel at the first servo on the way back so assumed we all knew that.

But yep the Piliot One are a great tyre and seems to suit the Blade.

Let's go again next Sunday

i wouldnt mind doing a Kangaroo Valley ride in the near future with my brothers (you guys) maybe stop at Kiama and then Robertson ect, any takers???

Belinda you always keep me laughing when we stop and have a chat. I cant believe evryone that came on that ride was so cool, not a dickhead to be seen.

It was nice to see the PITS taken up by so many RATS and my little CAFE Bertonis, the staff and owners kept raving about all the bikes and how awesome they looked out front (very motorcycle friendly cafe) - thanks guys

Why? As you've probably noticed I don't really care to ride fast on the roads, but my bike would have rounded up all the 1000's at those speeds ... in another's hands ... it wasn't exactly the TT :confused1:

Captain, In those same hands you dont think the thousand would smoke the 600, I mean it does in the tt, SBK,or any other formula , You really need see the doctor bout that one eye...:lmao:

Captain
24-08-2009, 06:04 PM
I don't know about 'smoking', most average riders will actually ride a 600 faster on track ... although I guess on the road you're more reliant on torque than corner speed. I certainly agree that a 1000 would be more comfortable to ride on the road, but only because it can be ridden differently.

I'm not one-eyed, I like them both :ayyy:

Hey brother, its got a pipe but just a cheap arse little Jardine shorty -with cat still hooked up(I like it though) i am a AKRA man myself but I have well and truly done my balls on the two bikes -I am truly spent, hence the lack of track days this year.

I think I was ringing the neck of the bike on the long strectches but the little fucker comes into its own on the Old Rd or around the bends at YANKO rd. I hope Jamesy gets one he would absolutely love it. It would suit his loose exhaust style riding style:lmao: The funny thing is Jamesy and I used to ride together a fair bit and only recently came to know who each other person was on the site. Thanks for the kind words bro.
