Great night.
Great track. Didn't lose traction once!
Too many cars.

Not enough bikes. In fact, it was probably the worst attended Bike Night I'd ever been to. There wasn't much (any) promotion of it, so there were only 11bikes. 6 Hayabusas, Gixxer1000, ZX14, 2 Harleys and a chook chaser.

I got a new PB, 10.5 at 221km/h
:mod_smilie_rockwoot

My mate Simmo on his stock Busa, stock height, etc... raced the ZX14, lowered front and back, and BEAT HIM!!! They ran 9.94 VS 9.97, but it was good to see them having fun!

You guys missed a good night!

Ah snow, so pure, so beautiful, so clean, and so crappy when you ride a bike! :hatter:

Hey whats that cost you Pan ? in entry fees or whatever (not talking tyres/clutch etc)

pan
03-05-2007, 12:35 PM
$15 to watch
$45 to race
You get between 4 and 14 runs, depending on how busy it is. Last night was very busy because there's been lots of rain and a few Wednesdays were washed out...

Thanks Pan!, apologies for the newb question about drag (bikes), do you destroy your clutch after a night of this, or are we talking it'd be normal for a stock streetbike to do this every now and then without ruining a clutch?

jason, i've done a few drag nights on my stock k6, and the clutch is still fine in it, the thing that i've found that cops the most pounding is the chain, just cause your drag racing, doesnt mean ya have to pop the clutch, cause you'll normally end up watching your bike go down the track while your sitting on your ass at the start line, but the chain naturally cops abit of a hiding, but hey, i've done some road rides where the chains been abused more:ayyy:

some rather credible times there pan, maybe next time, you could try stiffening up the rear suspension, that's all i did to run better times:ayyy:

Man Swabio thats a ride!!! If you do then yell out as I can always make room in our place for a fellow rider, the ride up is still a good hour away but it beats ?? what ?? 4 hours from Canberra..

Clutch is built to take it. If you do about 20 runs without a break it starts to screw with your clutch, but you're only gunning it for 10 or 11 seconds and you get an hour between races. No dramas with the clutch. Chain...? probably a fair bit of wear and tear i=on it, but nothing drastic!

I'll start a new thread for the next Bike Night!

I fried a clutch at WSID once. But it was a big old zx9 and there was no mercy from the operator. My zx10 still has the stock clutch after at least 20 runs at WSID and 10 000 wheelies elsewhere.
If all goes well, i'll see you at WSID on the 6th of june jasonbw :)

Nice burnout pan! Last time I was there you didn't do burnouts. Admittedly that was a long time ago :(

good point MadHatter, I better read that post Pan's got in Tech later cause I'd like to know if you have to ruin your normal street tyre.

Hey Pan, I see you're beating Loafie, but isnt that a Commodore in reverse beating you? :) OMG the shit talks started and I haven't been yet :)

Ya don't have to.. If I have new tyres I don't warm them up in that fashion. But it's fun if you do.. :p

Yeah, you can almost see that counter clicking over $2 a second as soon as you let go of the clutch.
JACS on here is doing insane rolling burnouts now.

I'll have to get me some Shinkos for the night so I don't have to worry about that :) hmm, then again maybe I'd hate not having grip when trying to get a good time :)

This sounds like great fun, I'll see if some IRA members will be coming up.

I will be towing the bike up..... as I don't have a road reg bike ;) Cheers for the offer though :) I won't be heading up until the end of the year though !
