Does anyone know where the dess code requirements are on circuit breakers?
I have a mate who want to come but only has a A* Textile jacket and jeans but has the rest of the gear.
He wants to chop me which is fine as he has an R6 and has been riding for 10 years. Im not the type to give shit (but mates will) if im chopping him on the 400 with only 6 months ;-). The whole reason why he wants me to take the K6 is so he has an excuse.

We have had an unusally dry season, hopefully it stays that way.
The only forcast that is 99% accurate is 2 days before.
Quick Q, im thinking of bringing my RVF down to do a couple of sessions then switching to the K6 which a mate will bring down. Can I get it scrutineered during the day or does it have to be there in the morning?
lilninja
07-06-2007, 04:49 PM
Im pretty sure they scrutineer it in the middle of the day, they only do a very brief check anyway!
dungbeetle

im riding rain hail or shine. although if the weather isnt "shine" then i will be riding very slow (even slower than normal) ;)
obviously it wont be as much fun in the rain but it will give an opportunity to slow it up a bit and practice being smooth etc etc blah blah and other feel good positive crap.

Reminds me of that day in JUly last year when it was below zero until around noon / 1pm'ish.....
I drove from canberra to syd that day and it really sucked.... took a bit to realise the reason the car was wandering around a bit was due to the ice on the road....... hmmm go the AWD + ESP...... certainly helped out that day! when we stopped @ MAccas Golburn the antenna would not retract as it had turned into an icicle... and there was ice build up of about 2cm thick on all the leading edges of the car....
it was nuts! And passing trucks became interesting with big sheets of ice flying off them! Oh well you guys enjoy the track day ;) I am off to Perisher instead.......going to take my sister-in-law up there as she is from Indonesia and never seen snow!

Yeah not too bad mate, to tell you the truth not having the bike hasn't bothered me too much....wel not as much as i thought it would.....after today being at OP it really gets you wanting a dedicated Trakky.........wouldn't take my pride and joy onto a track again, there's too many risks, as we were talking about today, you only need someone to drop a bit of oil or coolant and your gone......the guys today had a clean dry track and they were dropping like flys !!! Crazy stuff !!

I had a very slow day :lmao: Birdman woke me up about 11am from a nice sleep, which sucked because I was having a super hero dream :ayyy:
Very slow ride to op due to the amount of people wanting to have a peek at my lic photo, I haven't seen so many out for along time. I was a little disappointed when I arrived at op because nobody told me you could play in the mud so left my gum boots at home.
Good to meet more RATS & thanks so much to all the people involved with the bbq (my fav) & clothing which is outstanding, I also now have 2 shirts without grease stains (yet) in my wardrobe. :mod_smilie_rockwoot
Jasonbw you can never come to my house ever, because you wont be able to ride home without that suspension that would strangely go missing (we have suspension eating possums here).
Birdman was also biatching someone covered his bike in rubber, I told him to just stop rubbing himself to hard :lmao:

OUTSTANDING DAY............................................. :ayyy:
Great to see so many RATs out there today which made the day even better.
The new apparel that Biggie had organized looks a million bucks.Love your work John:clap:
Our Illawarra Brothers and Sisters were well represented as always
Track condition was good apart from the mud if you were unlucky enough to come a crop.I think there was more mud out side the pits than what was on some corners after the bikes had been hosed down. The mud played a good part as well.I think there would have been more damage out there today as it provided a soft landing. As for my riding, well i still sit on the bike like i'm going down to the shops with my feet spread out like wings but i am getting quicker with a new PB of 1:31 :mod_smilie_rockwoot
.....and a big thank you to Kat00's Boss,Kat00 and Biggie for doing all the cooking again and by the looks on how quick the food went down it was another success :ayyy:

was a great day of mud wrestling for me.
luckily no major damage just a bent gear change lever and missing bolt.
will sort that out this week no worries
The track fairing (and foot of mud) saved the bike from any serious damage.
the worst bit was the following session when the gear lever fell of (cause of the missing bolt) then i pull off the track just to get bogged again. most embarressing.
anyway thanks for organising the day and see you all again next time.

Great day, totally hooked! I didnt get to meet as many people as I wanted :(
Couple of moments, a mate went wide just as I was passing him on turn 8- next lap I touched the rear brake which sent me sideways around the whole thing (anyone see it?). Nearly went bush overtaking the black and yellow ducati with spoked wheels on turn 5 as he pushed me wide! :cursing:
Im not sure about the whole outside only overtaking in my group... I never seen so many near crashes and unpredictable behaviour. I guess I have to live with it until I get faster.
It was interesting jumping on the RVF400- I worked it out: I havent ridden it in 3 months- It was like learning it all again! :hatter:
Best part, trying to overtake everyone from the back of the pack in D group, couldnt quite catch the first 2. Oh well, next time. I did manage to overtake 4 people in in one go at turn 1 and 3 people 9/10
Managed a 1:37 on my second session :Kat00: (heaps of traffic)

Vinnes so right Bigdog, the shirt is outstanding!!!! Great work !!!!
Thanks heaps Dungy for organising it all, phark you were flying today, you suuuure you need to sell :( After you told me your PB 1:23, Ray, Damien and I were on the pitwall watching you fly around, I told them I'd 'guess' your laptime was 1:23... Damien timed you at 1:23.6 next lap .. I told them the truth later, not before they were wondering how I knew :) :)
And thanks Kellz for making us feel welcome, and Turtle and Damien for the great teamwork on suspension duties :)
Zroyz and Birdman, thanks for all the compliments and the yak about the bike, can't wait to see yours all done... thats my dream, a CBR1K trakkie :) good move.
Got to wonder Zippas laptimes, every time he flew past while I was on pitwall videoing I had the whole "motoGP" wind buffet shake happen .. :)
Alex (749Dark) had a ball, hope he posts up his first trackday experiences to inspire the virgins amongst us :)
I'm amazed though, what a great atmosphere in your pits... the IRA and RATs make a good combination, were talking a winter trackday and 30 something turned up.. fantastic... lots of effort in putting that together, BBQ & drinks, (Lyn and all else who helped) thanks RATs.
Trakkie or not, I'll be coming to more of these even if I'm not riding :) :) that was a great day !

Great day once again. Thanks to Al for organising :ayyy: & to all the other RATS there making trackdays socially fun as well as the riding part. Love seeing everybody helping out with tools, spares, tyre warmers etc :mod_smilie_rockwoot
As for the riding part, had a new rear slick fitted to the 400 at the start of the day & crusied around in the first session, track was still a little cold though fun.
Rest of the sessions were even better with some great riding weather. Some slowish riders in A group made things interesting (MV Agusta doing 1.35's ???) and with a mate of mine on another 400 to play with & improve times. We were doing consistent 1.19's in traffic, 1.18s with a half clear run & then with the empty track for the last session both down to 1.17's. (well was told that, Ben had a lap timer on his 400) Track is much kinder without that bloddy bustop after turn 3 :wtf1:
Also nice to meet some members i haven't before & a special mention to Jeff & Simon Black, sharing the fairing less FZR600. PB's for Jeff (Trumstr) & Simon was smoking along on his first trackday with a grin from ear to ear.
And as Jay would say " I love trackdays" :mod_smilie_rockwoot

Thanks again for organizing another great day at OP, Dungie:ayyy: Simon (buntz) and I had a great time- the old FZR600, now with no fairings after they blew off at last track day, went really well back to back sessions. Simon's first track day and he managed consistent 1.38-1.35's - his smile after session 1 was well worth the effort to get him there. Another track day 'junkie'
I was happy in C group -especially after the expected large numbers jumped ship and ended up in the large D! 1.31 fairly consistent- don't know how much more the fizzer can go without some serious scraping- hit pegs pretty regularly!
Must make more time to catch up with many more of you all at next one. (Get to em all before OP closes!!!)

yep, awesome day,...
my day started out crap, with my worst first session ever... almost took out a bloke in turn 2 on the second lap, and a major highside later on that session.. mainly due to my bieng rough and not smooth. lucky to keep it upright ...
rest of the day became better, with a session or two of going hard, and another just playing with skipp and the like... managed a 1:24, so alittle better on my PB from last time (although with the bus stop though). I for one like the bus stop.... did learn alot about rear wheel sliding though, esp in the left hander before the flip flop...
here are some snaps i managed to take, and i think they speak for themselves....
