I have been getting about 30kms less in my tank for the past 2 weeks.

Granted i may have been riding it SLIGHLY harder (been late for work a fair bit) But nothing over the top, is it normal to get a 30km a tank difference?

I get inbetween 220 - 200kms for about 10 - 12 litres give or take...

Just wondering what the norms where?

Anybody know or know where i can find out?

Cheers everyone! :ayyy:

Thats about the same as I get per tank.
How you throttle it will determine how much fuel is burned, I have found slow on the gas and I get more k's than when I wack it straight round. ;)
When I give the Gixxer a good hard run I'm lucky to get 180kms to 14-15 litres.

If thats any help:ayyy:

Yeah that's a help buddy, thanks!

I guess i have been riding the freeway at 140 - 150kmph pretty much 2 - 3 times a week cause i have been running late for work, rather then my 120 - 130kmph normal speed.

I just didn't think it would make a 30km difference.

I don't so much mind paying for the petrol, its the STOPIING my riding part that i hate. hahaha

When riding Sydney to Perth I ran the tank DRY in 160kms. :)
Lucky I carried spare fuel with me cause the closest fuel from there was another 30kms away.
When riding day to day there are alot of factors that can reduce the amount of k's you get. EG: Sitting at lights / stop start / stupid cagers you want to get away from. ;)
One thing my Misses says to me before I go out is "Gentle on the wrist is gentle on the pocket"
Yeahhhhh right, like I'm going to take that advice. :thefinger_red:

its the high speed cruising that will be making the distance. i was cruising at about 150+ between adelaide and canberra/melbourne and used way way more fuel than when i was giving it stick in tassie where you would be below 120 for most of the day.

this is with a faired bike as well so you would be affected more on your sv.

the only other time i use more petrol is at the track which doesnt count coz i wouldnt get more than bout 190or so to a 17l tank.
