Got quoted $3900 by forte trailers for this 3 bike trailer. What are your thoughts? Seems pretty cheap to me, but i'm not good for looking for the finer details that have been left out of this to get the costs down.
Please let me know your thoughts.

The only thing i could think of was if you wanted a metal floor instead of the ply wood.
Are there tie down points on the floor?

too much ply wood.... ply wood goes bad easily....

how do you mount the 3 bikes?
where do the front wheels go?
$3900 is always the starting price. 3 bike trailers are too small if you have 2 bikes and all your gear. i have a 4 bike and 2 bikes and there is just enuf room with the gear.
And whats with wood? slippery cums to mind.

Marine Ply flooring is OK, you can then put down Marine Carpet on it.. metal/checkerplate can be slippery and dangerous in a bike trailer... if they can do the tail gate the same -marine ply and carpet is handy too, again not dangerous and slippery like a metal one...
My tandem has Marine Ply & Carpet, is excellent and tows like a dream... would ask them what the dimensions are- internal / external / nose etc etc and how high the floor is off the ground as well.... i got mine from Coolmoto down in Lara near Geelong...

That's nice oz :ayyy:
Don't the front wheels usually sit in those sink holes at the front? If they're not there, I guess you need to buy those wheel lock gizmos, I guess.
Also, it comes with solid form ply, which is not the cheap plywood you might be thinking of, it's a higher quality material and is waterproof.

Ask for full dimensions & specs ? is it braked ? get as much info as you can... you're better off spending more to get a nicely made trailer that tows well, rather than the neatest looking or cheapest... beware, there is a lot of rubbish out there, especially a few around Sydney... if you can get photo's of it being built, or visit the factory to see the quality of work and welds in the chassis, all the better... i spent nearly 6 months looking around...

Mine had the recess in the front, but i had it covered with a lift up plate.. mine is also about 1400 high internally as the Multi is taller than most sportsbikes.. another you need to consider.. measure your bike/s and allow for extra. Most trailers are around 1200 high internally and designed for dirt bikes ... also find out width between the wheels wells internally..

mine was nearly $9k ... but is one of the best i have come across, i quite often still check out trailers at EC or the track to see if anyone has good ideas or put thought into them... so also talk to the guys that have enclosed trailers to see what they'd do different or are happy with.. good luck

My main concern with the trailer listed & materials used is the weight, especially when loaded with the single axle setup. Would be a fair amount of weight transfer onto tow bar & would be a bitch to move around when not connected. Trailers like that really need to be duel axle like ozducati example.

Yeah, thanks guys.
I think i'll probably dismiss this one and look around. Another one of the concerns is the only contact is email only...

I wouldn't dismiss it so easily.
If the price is right, I reckon that trailer of yours would do the job nicely. The 9K one is nicer, but this one will do what you want it to just the same.
Just about everybody was critical of my intention to buy the 'easytrailer' ... too flimsly etc, yet I've had it for over a year now and it's the best decision I ever made. It's easy for others to be critical when it's not their money.

not being critical of the forte ones, but you need to have more info, if that's your budget then shop around, look in the trading post, on ebay, internet... see what's out there that you like and suits your budget.. if you can see/touch/feel in person all the better..

Surely the easiest would go to a track day and talk with people who have them, can eyeball em, get a idea of the price and any issues that the owners have had, better than listening to marketing bullshit

i started at the $4k models and spent almost $7K . 3 bike are too small for 2 sportbikes and all your gear. mine is 4 bike single axle and is the 3rd best thing i have ever bought.
