Hi everyone,
We haven't even had our first trackday yet but it's time to gauge interest in another trackday, the first for NSW Rats in the new year. As you most probably know we are going to have one trackday a month at Eastern Creek and also a few at other venues like Oran park, Wakefield and even Phillip Island.
Eastern Creek will host this event and if you are a member of NSW Rats it will cost you $150 (lunch included) or $160 if you aren't a member. (nudge nudge, ;) ;) )
So please come along with us and usher in the New Year in the best, well maybe the second best way :2191: we all know, flat out at the Creek.

Before Christmas would be nice but it all depends upon how many bookings are taken by other people between now and then. We usually like to ring and book positions around a month before the event, that way we don't miss out on any spots. Eastern Creek trackdays on weekends book out pretty quick, especially in Summer.

dallas
12-12-2006, 06:20 AM
yep mono, picked up the '89 FZR600..... some minor repairs like forkseals and reg/rect, and it "should" be ok... will just be a slow one to give it a shake down and see how it goes around... then...

kato - i threw up a post on Illawarra riders to see who might be interested in this day, thinking we might only get 4-6 people max, but f#$k me if they havn't come out of the wood work!... we're looking at 12-13 at the moment!... our previous best was something like 7 or so!

if we can make the numbers, we'll try to get a group discount together with Illa riders... be quite alittle acheivement for a bunch of blokes who most have never been on a track, nor were never intersted in it before!... knowing there will be enough numbers here already to get the discount, can you put me on a 'tentative' spot?

this day should be huuuuuuge!~

dallas

well, the illa boys have finally got their act together!... i'm very impresssed!..

we were only aiming at around 6 or 7 to attend, but at the moment we've got 11 people paid and keen as for this day!.. (not incluing chaddo or ib0057!).. this is our biggest trackday turnout..

a good mix of first timers, and some boys who have played around EC before, so should be good.

as i've said to biggie before, we're still going to book under the RATs group, and he'll have the full $$$ into his account transferred tongiht.

at the moment we haev

Jmuzz
Mr Big
Rasper
Zee
Vale
JM
Mort
Craig
JohnB
Tan
and little ol' me!.. :mod_smilie_rockwoot

at this rate, i wouldn't be surprised if between the illa / Rats group, we could prob try to negotiate a better rate for upcoming days... with 25-30 people for each day, that's gotta be some good leverage right there?:doggy:

can't wait, should be an awesoem day!.. be nice to muck around with all you guys again!..

Motorcycling Events Group Australia's office will be closed as of 4.30pm Thursday the 21st of December 2006, and will re-open at 9.30am on Wednesday the 3rd of January 2007. Although all of our friendly telephone staff will be taking a well earned break, bookings can still be made via the "Calendar / Bookings" area of this website, with preference given by chronological order.

Anyway! Back to the ride day. I went down to dungbeetle's yesterday in order to do some modifications to our bikes. Turns out he had already fixed his bike so we spent the day working on mine (thanks al! Everyone knows your a champion).
You all better fear me now because along with welding my oggy bracket back together to ASBS standard, we mounted cameras and also GEARED THE 10 DOWN!:eyecrazy: I took it for a short ride around the block afterwards, just at low rpm's.. it has the torque of a gixxer down low now (dare I say MORE?)

I had a great time in the B2 group will probably head up to B1 or A for the next one though, my best was a 1:56.00 which i'm pretty happy with for my first track day, i would have liked to have got on the back of some faster guys but all the other groups were full. Cant wait for the next one.

LOL at Pan, the updates are starting mate.

Bummer to see a couple of us go down but no one got hurt so all is good.

Hangin to see that vid, Birdman should get a job at channel 7. His camera skills are insane.

I was soooo much more relaxed this trackday and seemed to get some good flow going. Lap times are still about 5 seconds off my best.
I'm struggling into heavy braking corners T2, T7 & T9 and the reason is simple.... the brakes are simply not good enough to pull me up.
I don`t know what type of pads are in there but the brakes are nothing compared to what they used to be. I'll try the type that Biggie is using.
Ive finally worked out he best way to handle T3 with this bike.

Was unreal meeting everybody, paticually the guys that had to travel.
Looks like we have got a good bunch of dedicated track riders amongst us.

Bring that next trackday countdown timer to life Hatter.

Was planning to come out and say G day to you folk, but just couldnt.
Next time Im in...!

Baz I know exactly what you mean, I too did my first and only track day in the B2 group, on a borrowed toofidy that needed a kick in the nutz to see 140ks p/h cause it sure as hell never saw 142 ks lmao, and yet I spent the whole day overtaking the same few over and over again only to be eaten at the slightest hint of a straight, then to be held up next corner which meant losing revs and waiting for the non existent power to come back on.
This/next time Im taking my K6 thou along, rather scared of biinning it I must admit, will be only my second track day, first on a real bike lol but definetly not the last. For this reason I will go in the B1 group.

It was one hell of a turn out from the RATs 33 riders for the day and Cleverlie,Black ice rider,Birdman,Jacs,Seraph and Fatcat came to say hello good effort guys:ayyy: .Falco what can i say mate,at least your in one piece and you didn't take Kat00 with you,but it was close very close.Looking forward to seeing Birdmans video. As for your bike mate PM me with your details and i will see if i can track down some parts for you:ayyy:At the end of the day i am counting the days till the 4th of Febuary at OP and to do it all again with my fellow RATs:ayyy:

what a fuckin rip snort of a day. excellent to meet some fellow raters :ayyy:
my day started out shit. took for ever to get ready, then had to print out some stuff. down to the servo. filled the jerry, go to fill the yammy ................. no fuckin key  . back home (only 3 minutes away), sent Stacy in to get it. she through's it and another in the car, were off again. I go to get the key.................. goneskys WTF? stop, search the car.......no fuckin key     . Stacy runs home n checks the road.............. I reverse down the road..................nope no fuckin key. very fuckin shitty now. rip all her SHIT out of the front......... nothin. rip all MY shit out of the back.............. bingo  it had gone in between the back and the bum bit of the seat. of to do a track day with a headache yay. a double short black coffee soon fixed that up. and missed out on breakfast    bet it real good too.

anyway.........
I so love my lil 400. only got timed for 3 laps, but there was a 2 minutes flat in there. thought i would of done better, but hey, it was an improvement for me, so i'm keepin it. every session went perfectly, no moments at all. that a plus. might have to up the anti next track day to B1.
tyre's are still clean as a whistle, but the front has the ever so light ripple, so might put a bit more folk oil in for the next run.

hope film star aint too badly brused.

see ya'll real soon aye :ayyy:

ps: and I got the yammy off the clock :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: 195ish

I`d agree with that, there is not much in it, he pulls about 2-3 bike lenghts down the straight, fortunately, he backs off before me:thumbsup:

It was an awesome day out today at EC. It was really nice meeting all the guys from Illawarra riders.
Everyone had fun today and I was no exception as the 750 was going well today in A grade. Man, it's a big step up in the fast grade and there is heaps to learn from those guys. Mono and Hatter hosed me again as usual (fark those guys are fast) and the best I could manage today was a 1:49.56, so I was fairly happy.
The big improvers were Mattk6, Sin, Falco, Karen, Dembo,Quickchick and Vinnie with very respectable times. Unfortunately Falco crashed, with brake fade, on turn 9 attempting to chase down Kat00. He was very fast all day (PB of 1:51.18) in B1 and it won't be long before he, Sin and Matt are all in A grade. Mick is starting to pick the pace up again as his confidence is on the improve. zRoyz also had an acco on turn 9 but it was like water off a duck's back and he was out there again mixing it up. As usual Dungbeetle was punting the now leak free K5 Gix 600 in B1 at a good pace. :) Irena was back for the first time after a typical turn 2 lowside, last year and she looked like she was having a ball.
Quickie and Gir13 were doing PB lap times in B2 and again, it won't be long before they both move up. Karen is definately on the improve with sub 2 minute lap times and she most definately belongs in the B1 category now. Vinnie, along with cooking a awesome BBQ, was hosing everyone in C grade. He was punting the barge around at a great rate of knots and he will definately be in B2 next time.
All in all it was a typical Rats track day with heaps of fun, thrills and spills. Thats what track days are all about. See ya's at Oran park on the 4th Feb.:mod_smilie_rockwoot

Pics from today have been loaded in the "Photo Plog" found up the top of the main page in the folder called "Trackday Photos/ 2007 Eastern Creek 14th January.

They are reasonable quality, possibly good enough for a desktop (once the pic is opened, click on it and it will go to a good size)
Lyn hurt her back, so if she didn't get you, she will next time and will be more practiced. When she gets better at it the full res pics will be available for a small cost

Ta mucha had a great day, I did get a little sleepy in the second sesion & have a little sit down turn 9 but not a mark on me & the VFR has just added some war marks. I'll be coming to many more just not with shagged tyres & maybe just raise the pegs a touch :-)

Haa, i had such a fun day today and stacked my bike in the process. Felt like a virgin talking up my first shag back in the garage after getting a closer look of T9. 2007's budget has had a set back, i guess now the track bike will now be sooner than later. Cant wait to have another crack at OP but i will have to sort things out before then. Thanks to all the people who visited and participated in this great day, everybodies contribution makes it what it is....farking awesome!;)

Yesterday was awesome. You guys can really hammer those machines on the track! Was great to meet most of you, although i can only remember a few of your faces. My memory is shocking. Hopefully next trackday i'll be out there on the zzr in c grade, just to get used to riding track.

ya, super day, and thanks to all who helped make it happen...:ayyy:

was alittle nervous about the 'hack' fzr, but all in all, a nice little toy to punt around with..no lap record breaker, but was nice hosing some of the newer, bigger bikes down the back of the track, only to be left on the straight....

was getting around the 2:05 ish consistently, and i know i can definately trim that time with the bike as is... it chewed the front a fair bit, so gotta trim the suspension up, hopefully allowing me to take some more corner speed and get into the 1's in march...

was unfortunate that two of the illa boys went down, one with a popped shoulder and suspected collar bone... bugger... but from all reports, they all had a ball, and will be back for more!...

was nice puttin' more names to faces...

see you all in March..

Thanks to all at RATS for organising the group day. I 'substituted' for my son John on the day- Green Triumph Sprint in 'C' grade. Would have been happier in 'D' if there had been one. However, took a lot in from asking a lot of questions, watching and listening and of course the 'Turning Drill' . All helped to make me more confident on an unfamiliar (6 weeks now) bike. Made those Kiama bends on the way home the best ever! Hope to see you all and meet up again somewhere, someday. Keep upright!!

Come to OP on the weekend then :)
