Walked out to my bike today (after leaving it on friday night after a ride) and i noticed that my smoke puig screen has about 4 3inch cracks longitudinally up the screen (not the whole way thru the screen) on the upper right hand side of the screen. now these were definitely not there when i got off it on friday night as they stand out quite badly.
I will post photos later as i was running late today so didnt take any photos, but the bike has not been dropped or hit or anything like that. has anyone seen or heard anything about these screens, i am going to need to get a new one before the 31st (track day) but thought i would ask if anyone has seen this before, very annoying considering my bike is my pride and joy !:BangHead:

I've had mine on the 848 for a few years now with no probs, Ducati crappy paint has chipped from stones etc but not a mark on the screen.

I had one on my previous bike and the thing never gave any problems... survived both crashes I had even though the fairing that held it didn't.
Maybe send a pic of it to the manufacturer...

Had the screen on for 7 months and this is the first issue i have had with it, screws havent been tightened or loosened since i got it. Pissed i have to buy another one now and it might not get here in time, dont want to go back to old factory screen at the track either.

My first Puig race screen cracked on my CBR1000RR top middle & no rock etc had hit it as there was zero marks was about 3 months old. I always buy puig because they always seem the best fit but I bought it from USA cost me postage to send it back & the distributor didn't want to replace it so the place I bought it from motomummy wore the cost & replaced it. If you bought it here then take to to place of sale & fight for a replacement so long as it doesn't have any tell tail marks like something has hit it.

I bought it from sportbiketrackgear.com and i really cant wait for the messing around shipping it there and getting them to cover the costs as i need it for the 31st of July. I might send it back and order another one and hope it gets here on time. The fit and finish of this one was pretty damn good till it cracked... definately no tell tail marks either which is a concern.

I fitted a Puig double bubble dark smoke on my 09 R1 and the first crack appeared after a few weeks with no evidence of stone chip damage, a few weeks later another crack appeared virtually a mirror image of the first crack then 2 more cracks appeared. The screen fitted well and didn't apear to be stressed in any way by the fitment.
I had it replaced with a new one after under an insurance claim saying it happened in the accident and so far so good..
Buying it from USA made it virtually pointless trying to go for a warranty claim:eyecrazy:

I had a Puig on my 1198s too, a few months ago did a CSS at Eastern Creek and it started with a crack before i got there to almost the whole screen cracked and crazed through by the end of the day... had to use Duct Tape to hold it together for a track day the next day... not happy, but bought it in the US last year so junked it.. i just got a shipment of Biondi screens in from Italy, nicely made too...

ok some photos, not the best but you get the idea of how fucked it is, you can see thru it, but damn its annoying. Ordered a new one from the US earlier today, $100 delivered, much cheaper than locally, but i guess i cant just take it back if it buggers up again.

yeah and from the searching of the web it would seem thats the way it is, alot of people rave about how good they are but there are very few if any people that have had the same problems. Oh well i guess shit happens.

I just saw you mentioned yours is the race version which if I'm not mistaken is 2mm whilst the road version is 3mm thick... that could be a factor too I guess.
Hmmm, next time post that you are looking for a eg. screen. Someone may be able to help you.
I've never had a problem with my puig screens in the past (gixxer 07 and blade 08)
