Need to get some tyres that will do Rain/Hail/Shine riding for PI and also EC eventually as I am sick of sittin on the sidelines when it rains. I want to get out there..

Thinking Ractecs as I used to use them... of the new M5 Metzelers...

Has anyone got a good treaded tyre they use? Has anyone has any experience with the Michelin Power Pure????

Any other good tyre for all round track riding??

Am doing 2 Superbike schools and 2 trackdays at PI and I don't want to miss a minute of tracktime if it rains :)

Spare wheels might be prohibitively expensive for the orange bike, can't say I've seen too many around the wreckers. Unlike those green bikes that are just so common... :p

Race tracks plus wet = slippery in any circumstance bar using wets, even then there are limits.

Maybe try some of Whiteys intermediates, cheap all rounder option, i payed $260 fitted,
i think there around the $300 mark now.

Zeno Swears by the Pure's.

And if they are a improved version of the Pilot power, than they would be awesome.

Pilot power is the best sports tyre ever!!

haha - yes, I like Michelin's these last 10 years..

Hated them back in the 80's and a large part of the 90's; but there were reasons for that, largely falling off when I made crap decisions at high angles of lean - so basically my fault! :dohsmiley:

The latest Power, the Pure is pretty good; but I think a few people will try and let the air out too much and then not get on with them.

I would be interested to see how the fork goes with them Special K, but mine being curious is not enough that you should buy 'em!

So far I have found my wear to be pretty good with them on the street & have found they worked well at "the farm" too; but it should be added that I am using TTX as well as a 30mm front end on a CBR600, so expect geometrical and stress differences... oh and they worked very very well on a wet Putty yesterday!

Jim, how can you say you hated the hi sports :D Revelation that they were!

Pilot Powers rock, can't go wrong there for mortal laptimes, the pures sound interesting for sure.
