Jasonbw and I are going to attend a cornering school shortly.
If anybody else is interested in honing their skills, post up now or forever hold your peace.
We're uncertain of the the date at this stage.
Here they are:

Friday, 27th of July, 2007
Monday, 13th of August, 2007
Monday, 1st of October, 2007
Tuesday, 2nd of October, 2007
Monday, 29th of October, 2007
Tuesday, 30th of October, 2007

I'm leaning towards any of the top two.

More info can be viewed here http://www.superbikeschool.com.au/shop/home.php?cat=250

I'm still not 100% sure I'll have the money to do this but I'll chat with the wife tonight. I'd prefer the August date so I get a bit more time for the $$.

FWIW the October schools are nearly booked out!! weird cause theres heaps of spots left in July/Aug !

Okay Jason I'm up for the 27th July as well.
I'll book after next weeks track day at EC.
For the rest of you guys, you are welcome to join us or choose a date that suit you best. There is no group discount so there's no need to qualify for minimum numbers. But I still reckon it's best if we can do it on the same day...to share the experience together and cos I'm a dumb arse and forget whats just been taught.
Vinnie, just do it! Your ability and confidence will improve dramatically. You will not go away disappointed.

Well said Zee... excellent I'll book mine in over the Web on the weekend. woo hooo

Hey, anyone going to use Slicks?? I'm thinking of it.

Zee, I have a perfectly functional tyre changer here at home, if you need to swap tyres before then no problem buddy. Same for anyone local.

Zee

Thanks for the offer mate :ayyy: but I'm getting slicks on Monday at OP.
Though, I wont be riding, I'm just going up for a chin wag and get some tyres off Craig.
You're welcome to join me if you like....if you can lower your standards to be in a cage.

just wondering if anyone has a confirmed booking?? i was planning on going to do one of these (advance or corner+braking), but since there's an unofficial meet then i mite tag along. any date is fine with me, but i just wanna know when...
Also do i just bring my road bike with no prep?? (don't need to chain lock or what ever you guys do before a trackday) As u can see its all :hatter:, being a noob & all...

lilninja

Just bring it along dude, I think pretty much the same rules aply as track days, must be in good working order eg bearings brakes etc, they also recommend that you change your coolant for plain water as coolant can cause a nasty slippery patch if it leaks onto the track!

jasonbw
10-06-2007, 04:01 PM
and near new tyres... well they say that but some dont listen :)

I missed out on the 4/5th one, and havent really done EC.

I have done it in a car a fair few times but its totally different on a bike and I wasnt really hitting 260klm on the straight!

Do you guys suggest I do a couple of trackdays there first so I have a better flow of the track or just do a school?

Would be good to see an improvement in lap times but I dont want to do it and pick up bad habbits if I do trackdays before hand.

Zee

Onya Techno dude :ayyy:
I'll book after Sunday's track day.....see if I survive first :confused1:

Marcus, my first track day at EC was 13 years ago and I didn't do one again there till last years Cornering School. I recommended the CS first, cos you go around at a slow pace practising your exercises they've taught you in the classroom. And they'll also give you the recommended lines you should be on so yo don't run out of road. :eyecrazy: especially for turn 2 :ayyy:

jasonbw
15-06-2007, 06:02 PM
Amen to that brother! But I think in Marcus' case the horse has bolted.
I now cant make either CSS date as I've secured track fairings for my CBR, hope you have fun tho

Marcus
15-06-2007, 07:50 PM
Er, what do you mean the horse has bolted?

Im not familiar with that phrase...Or maybe its friday and the ticker is already switched off ;-)

MATTK6
15-06-2007, 07:57 PM
i dont think there's really a thing that's a bad habbit, you end up doing what feels good, i run on a simple system, if it doesnt feel good, i dont do it, but the descision is yours marcus, which ever way you decide to go, E.C is awsome fun on a bike:ayyy:

VINNIE

Dead right, I had a really loud brain fart then. Apologies. I had thought you already booked the track day. You were happy at OP so you'll have fun at EC. I would still suggest CSS first but like MattK6 said, if you feel right for the track day then go for it.

Sorry guys. I know I started this but I'm gonna have to snake yas.
Cos I can't do PI in November with Rats (work leave denied) my plans have somewhat changed. Still want to have a holiday, still want to do a trackday at PI and still want to Cornering School, I've come up with this alternative. Go down for the GP and hang around afterwards for Cornering School at PI. There's 2 days of CS available that week. One on Thursday and the other on Friday. The first almost booked out and the second with about 8 spots left. I'm speaking of course for level 2 CS. If ya interested in do'in something like that, let us know and we could go halves in accommodation. If ya keen better check if there's spots available in your class.
