Sigh, yet another accident where the cause just drives away!

And frighteningly like a similar "accident" on the Gold Coast last week where a rider lost his life in the same circumstances.

Look out for trailers!

Hope he has a full recovery.
Don't they have cameras doted along the F6 this low life had to go past one.
the prick had to notice the bonnet missing when he got to where he was going. If he don't hand himself in i hope karma drops somthing big & heavy on him.

It was on the F6, but actually down in the Wollongong suburban area, so I doubt if there are cameras there...at least I hope to hell there isn't!!!

Accrding to workmates the incident itself occurred between the overpass at 'The Avenue' and the 'Masters Road offramp'.

There are no cameras in this area however I have no doubt that the authorities are searching all available footage (looking for a vehicle and trailer from prior and after the incident (although there aren't really any video type cameras in the area).

No doubt the 'driver' now knows that the bonnet fell off but the incident has not received extensive local coverage so may not know of the damage it has caused so may not see a need to report it or hand himself in. Once he/she becomes aware the true person will become evident (ie. own up, or stay quiet) so do not judge the person's character yet.

What will be interesting will be whether any witnesses come forward that can assist in identifying the vehicle or will the mentality of blindness take over again.

However, if the bonnet was not secured adequately (and it sure appears that way) then I fully expect that the person will be charged if and when identified as the authorities do tend to try extremely heavily to identify the patries in these type of events.

Well i know that at the least he could cop a fine for an unsecured load, maybe he'll get a neg driving charge if the cops canput a case for it together. This assumes the cops find out who it is, which appears will be the biggest challenge i guess.

The rider's stepfather is a member of another forum of which I am a member and he has posted the message below (after his original posting and some replies:

Piotr thanks everyone for their best wishes.
He's on some bike forums, just not this one.

He used to have a customised Ballards XR 600...but that was stolen outside of Cronulla RSL some years ago.

We believe we may have to "Streetfighter" the Busa, insurance company will doubtless want to write it off.
So we'll have to keep it and make it road worthy without spending thousands replacing the entire fairing and headlight/indicators.
Left side cover also smashed, left footpeg and gearstick gone.

Piotr's $800 (cough) Shoei Diablo Helmet is ground down to the fibreglass underlayer.
His Alpinestars jacket tore at some of the stitching points and his riding gloves, one was ground down over the carbon fibre knuckle.
His jeans tore at his calf...that was his leg damage..bit of gravel rash and bruising.
His Joe Rocket boots suffered no damage at all I believe.

The freeway was blocked for almost two hours apparently, the oil from his bike went all over the road and they had to get Hazmat to clean it all up.

The bike in question was a Busa.
