Hello legends,
Went into garage today after attaching HRC Brake Reservoir kit to notice that the brake fluid I filled the light green hose with had been absorbed though the hose.:thinking:
I’m guessing that the “Valvoline" I picked up from my local bike shop isn’t the correct one to use with this set up.
Can you please let me know what you are using and have you experienced this yourself?

Was that done recently?
Cause its been very Humid and if the fluid is cold = condensation.
Wipe it off with paper towel and see if its Fluid or condensation.
Any DOT4 shouldnt leach through any plastic by osmosis.

Your clear tube is sweating and your fluid will be absorbing moisture, you need to replace the tubing. The only one that will do is Tygon 2075. Depending how much you want, I could send you a piece. As for fluid, I use Quadriga GS610. It is used in NASCAR and others.http://www.martiniracing.com.au/GS610-Brake-Fluid.aspx

Still no idea why it should sweat ... and as a technical/scientific kind of person, not knowing is driving me insane. It's either:
1) Brake fluid seeping through. Should be easy enough to check, just collect it and feel/smell/taste it.
2) Condensation. Why? The tube would have to be cold for that to happen (below dew point).
There is ONE other possibility: the tube is slightly pourous, so that moisture is drawn to it by the hygroscopic nature of the brake fluid (absorbs moisture). But the water molecules - being quite large - can't get through the pores, and collect on the surface.
If anyone can find out the exact reason I would certainly appreciate it.
Seems like most tubes have this problem: http://www.desmoworks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=42&zenid=4a23b47e7aba6529d9cca3f7992a2787

Well if it's brake fluid then it's the wrong type of plastic tube, clearly it's pourous to brake fluid.
I've asked someone in the tube/plastic industry, if he can shed any light on it I'll let you know.
