Hi all, Misses Bones & I are starting to pull down our bike now & get it ready for the track. Thought id post it up so all can laugh at my pain when it comes. :cursing: I pulled apart my SV 1000 after I binned it at the creek a couple of years ago but apart from that i've always taken me bike to the shop for work. So this should create some entertainment for you all. Misses Bones will put up some pics of our progress a little later on, we only started yeasterday so it's all ony plastic progress so far. Bike has to be ready by the for the track day on the 27 of this month. I need to do my folk seals get me slicks put on get a new pipe and fit it, gotta cut me pipe and take it from a bolt on to a slip on, then get me race glass and put it on as well as. should be a fun couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy watchin our work and i'll see ya at the track "hopefully." :ayyy:

Righto boys the time has come, instead of lookin at the thing for another ten mins scratchin me head i've come to the brains trust. The front wheel on me SRAD 600 has a nut on one side and is flat on the other iv'e tried but can't move it without the whole axle turning. I sounds simple taking a frigin wheel off but im stumped? I've only changed me back wheel before never touched the front? any help would be good?

dungbeetle

keep undoing the nut. the whole axle turns and will eventually come out.
make sure the crimp bolts are undone on the side with the nut, well its actually a big bolt. make sure the crimp bolts on the other fork are still done up...

Sorry for taking a while boys, it seems that whenever you try to sit down to a particular project, all hell brakes loose in a mojor conspiracy to ensure that whatever your project was - it never gets finished! Hence bike has been left in garage in a somewhat molested state for a few days (although work on the new pipe has been progressing) and by the looks of the recent weather - a pair of floaties may be neccesary for the poor thing in the not too distant future! (here's hoping not!)
Anyway 5 more pics - not much left. The only way is up from here! ;)

looking good:ayyy: but what do you mean about the pipe work being on progress?, just get rid of the flange thats on it and you have a GP looking exhaust on it:lmao:

Mrs Bones
09-07-2007, 06:11 PM
Getting rid of standard pipe and putting on a slip on Yoshi, but had to rebuild the Yoshi (it was mangled but the boys did a fantastic job with it - the trickiest part being the welding, that stuff is paper thin!) and cut the end off the standard exhaust system.
you can see the Yoshi on it in the last pic, but the pipe will be cut back a bit further before it goes on I think.

Righto our forks are at the shop gettin the seals done and our race rubber put on and we should have the glass by the end of next week. Yesterday I did the oil and filter changed my coolant to water and cut all the plastic crap from under the back off the bike. Tomorrow I should be able to put the finishing touches on me pipe. Hopefully Misses B will put some pics up tomorrow.

Hey guys, we are just about done! Yay! just a bit of foam for the seat to go on, and of course a bit of a paint and the all important stickers - but I'm sure that will wait till after the ride day. Of course I have every confidence it'll come back in one piece! - (it has to last long enough for me to drop it at least! heh heh)
