I have been having trouble with my key switch the las few track days and now have my bike sitting at Sports cycles tuning in Newcastle and it's decided to finally fail!!! Has anyone put a toggle switch in place of the key switch?
Before you give it to me... Yes i own the bike, no it's not stolen....
I have the basic method, resistor and grey wire return as signal but any other tricks I need to know? PLEASE

Have you done this to your bike? US bikes seem to be different in the imobiliser/ecu stakes!!!

the Yanks dont have the immobiliser.
but you can grab a US ecu and key set and chuck it on your bike. that works.

Thanks Wattie
So the US ecu only really needs the resistor and correct wires powered to run?

i would assume so.
but if you were to disect the barrell you have and tape the key to it, the immobiliser will work you would just need to rig a switch to turn the power on.
the key only needs to be close to the barrell.
if this didnt work, then time for new ecu from septopia

I did think about the hack job! remove antenna and tape to key and amplifier.. think I will get harness and ecu from US and try that out.
Thanks for your input, will update if all goes well
