A work friend asked me if I knew any good areas closed off (i.e. away from cops) to practice wheelies, etc in Syd. I can't think of anything.

Any ideas where to go?

industrial areas.

There are quite a few abandoned commercial areas in the US, im trying to find one locally to use as my own personal race track.

Just go for a bit of a ride out of the city and find a quite country road.

The OP comment it a good one. Down near the skid pan is perfect, but an event needs to be on for you to get to it.

There was a chap talking of doing this in teh carpark out at El Cabalo Blanco on another forum. I've not been out there, so I don't know what it's like or if they still do it?

El Cabalo Blanco is a private place now. Two weeks ago two people were caught breaking in to the place.

There used to be a guy who would "rent" out the carpark at OP for this very purpose. Google him under "stunting"

There is a place at Picton, it is a old Sydney Water Road, thats were the FTP boys used to stunt, (trust me i know). u will get about a hour or so practice then you have to take off before the neighbours whinge and the boys in blue turn up and Sydney water as well. Its is a private / public road so you can be booked. If you break bones from crashing (trust me i know.. he he) its a long ride home. Might be able to organise a trip there, havent been there in a while though. Elcabalo is done and dusted, dick heads got in and fu#*ked it for every one.

I wonder what the EC guys would be like about using the skidpan for an organised stunt day?

The problem with a place hiring out an area for stunting would be insurance costs, they would just have to bend over and :doggy:
but yeah as lilninja said, the costs would then be transfered to the riders who want to go there
