Righto Guys this is the deal....

We get 10 riders to this day its going to cost us $120.00 for the ride and we get use of the pits.
If we get less than 10 it will be $129.00 each.
Lets support OP as they are supporting us:ayyy:

You guys are going to have to deposit the cash into RATs account so as this deal can take place. Remember to put a reference with the deposit so as we can track it.

We are going to have to start to collect some money shortly to secure our places. I will PM everyone who has expressed intrest in this ride tomorrow so as we can get the ball rolling.:ayyy:

well we need to have large numbers so there isn't many places left for another forum group that attended the 13th EC when there was no less than 30 crashes. i prob can't talk after a small slide turn 9 during our track day but at least I didn't cause any hold ups & most didn't even know I crashed, except Falco who was behind me.

but i have learnt not to try to get the last little bit out of worn out tyres.

I could wear my dri-rider if i cant find one by then, it did hold together really well in my first sliding stack, so id feel fairly safe in it. But if anyone does have a jacket, size small or medium, would i be able to use it? Maybe if there is someone in a grade other than C thats my size i could use it while your not on track?
If not im happy to go with my trusty dri-rider! I am allowed to use non-leather jackets cant i?

Hi Peregrine, glad to see you made it over here.
What an awesome day that we had today. I hated Oran Park the first time I rode here early last year but today it all seemed to fall into place and I had a blast and did a few 1:26 lap times. I'll definately be back again.
It was nice meeting the Illawarra boys again and I had a few good chats with Days, NDJ, Chaddo, Zipper and Jordan throughout the day. I met heaps of other people too but I'm sorry I forgot your names. The usual suspects were there and were all riding well, you know who you are.
It was good to see Yella & Poyda again. Poyda is riding really well now in A Grade and Yella has bought himself a Zx7r Kwakka and will be out on the track again real soon.
Anyway it was a great day apart from that last big stack that finished the day off. Poor bugger got choppered out to hospital and I hope he will be ok soon.

Well first off i've got to say a HUGE thanks to Kat00 for the track day. You have no idea how depressed i've been lately because of the lack of riding funds. And despite being a bit crook for the last few days there was no way i was going to miss out on this, heck i'd have chucked the pilot powers on and gone out in a Biblical down pour if need be.

My day started pretty hectic, didn't get there quiet as early as i hoped(missed brekky, not that it would've been any good to me), so it was a frantic wheels off and tyre fit on arrival and then sign in and get to scrutineering. There was no room in the B grade hotel for this lost sheep so i had to man the f@#k up and go out in A grade...with a shiney new front slick :eyecrazy: . I opted to miss the first session just to have a chance to relax and set up properly and let the warmers put the tyres through a decent heat cycle. I watched all the other RATS, new and old, come and go with there first sessions without mishap, which is always a nice thing.

I got out for the 2nd A grade session and tried to keep a wide line and let the guns through for the first few laps. For a track surface that looks 100years old i had zero slip from the new slick, compared to EC which was like an ice rink with new rubber. Anyway I cut a few slowish laps before trying to hook in, and was soon becoming disappointed with being passed like i was standing still, but decided to just shut up and get the job done for the session, i could always drop back to B grade when i got back. After talking to Matt, john, Al, Hatter, Mick and anyone else that was in B grade i soon realised that being the slowest rider in A grade was the place to be...no traffic. It took me a fair while, probably another 2 sessions to really find my lines and a good rythm, although there are still a few spots that baffle me, like the damn flip flop, out of my seat everytime. Everyone seemed to be having a good day, consistent times and finding more and more in everylap. Matt and Hatter decided to step up to A grade and have a go with the fast boys, and by fast i mean, where did he go? where the f@#k did he come from? and HOW IN GODS NAME DID HE GET AROUND THAT TURN...BASTARD!!! From all accounts, although i didn't have a time keeper, witnesses recon i was lapping pretty quick, around the 1:25's, and for someone like Hatter to tell ME i'm Crazy on that bike is something...and i have to give Yella a big thanks for coming around yesterday afternoon and helping setup the suspension so the intermediate barge would do the job, oh and fixing (pulling off the twist grip) a few minor items(Yes i'm the 2nd laziest man in the world). By the second last session of the day (the one with the big crash) i was FAST, well fast for me anyways. Lines felt good, I'd gotten into a pack of faster riders (ok so i was clinging to their exhaust pipes by the skin of my teeth) and seemed to be keeping good speed, and when we'd all got passed the slow Busa and his slow mate it all started to flow really really nicely, I'd found my groove (damn thing) and was starting to feel really good on the bike, getting knees down and carrying corner entry and exit speed where i'd been struggling all day. And isn't it always the way...when it starts to get good for one person, it's all just turned to some really nasty sh!t for someone else. Sure enough over the bridge the red flag was out. Some of the fast guys had a coming together ending the session. I hope they both have speedy recoveries. That was enough for me...totally shagged and had lost my zone..damnit.

It was great to meet a few new faces, and the random dude (your mate Hatter?) that was talking to me about NE2 racing, and all the old faces that we know and love, was just icing on the cake.
I have to say this was a great track day for me, if for no other reason than to be out on my bike with all my mates, I may not have been running in the same group, but thats not all there is to the day. Just being able to sit and talk to friends, not just about bikes or the track, is really what it's all about, and that's what makes being a part of the RATS family so damn good. to be honest the reason I haven't been on or posting much lately is because i didn't feel i could contribute much to the forum because i wasn't riding, but it didn't stop people from thinking about me and liz and helping us have a great day.

Thanks to all involved in setting up and making this day happen, i reckon we can honestly say that no other large group puts on a day like this, and even if they tried they couldn't match it. :ayyy:

Sorry if this waffles and has no direction, tired, sick, dirty, smelly and someone is in the bedroom telling me to hurry she wants :2191:

Another successful RATs trackday.
I think we only had one off and it was only very minor.
Not bad for 33 riders.

A big thanks to the cooks for feeding us
Great to see Families there today. How were the little kids in matching shirts with Mum & Dad :ayyy:
Some sections of OP are very technical.
I'm buggered if I could work out the exit of the dog leg:confused1:
Fantastic effort from BlackIce for his very first tracday, well done mate:ayyy:
What a buzz it is being around such a friendly group of riders.
It was absolutely a team effort getting you to the track today Poyda and awesome to see you and everyone else having so much fun.
Hope to see you all at the Creek next month :ayyy:

PS I`ll post the pics up I took today, tomorrow.
Too rooted tonight.

A big thanks to all who organised the day!
Was a great day apart from the incident towards the end. I didnt get to meet as many of you as I would have liked. Hopefully next time.
All those I did meet :ayyy: what a great friendly bunch of people.
OP certainly is a track that is there to test you & your bike.
I was drained by the end of the day & the drive home was murder. My shoulders & legs started to ache in no time. I am so unfit its embarassing.

I think the biggest mistake I made all day was paying $6.50 for a crusty chicken roll & walking back to the pits in time to see the BBQ being fired up for lunch, next time I will know better.

Thanks again guys for a great day & I hope to see you all again soon.

Well my first track day was a roaring success!! Thanks to all you guys who make everyone feel so welcome everytime. A huge thanks to kat00 for organising a huge part of the day, and also for his fantastic words of wisdom! :ayyy:

Hope those poor buggers are all right that came off at the end. Didnt see what happened and dont know what happened. All i saw was 3 bike off next to each other with the recovery guys there. Another big thanks to the crew at circuit breakers, they did a fantastic job organising such a big task and providing assistance to riders in all theyre needs.

Thanks also to Cleverlie for coming out and hanging around all day chatting, watching and supporting everyone. I can imagine how much it must suck watching everyone with theyre bikes and you not having yours! Dont worry mate, you'll be out there soon enough :ayyy:

Again, fantastic day all round. OP is a demanding track and some of those turns are tricky! 2 and 3 can be tough if you dont pay attention. The flip flop at just before the last turn is unreal! I loved it! Gassin out of the left hander then full throttle through the 2 apex's then down into the last turn! Love it! What a buzz!

Ill definetly be goin to a track day again real soon! Im workin on getting a 250 with a bit more balls than my zzr for next track day. See what happens but if it does, then some of you may find me a bit of a challenge out there! :ayyy:

Just a few others i want to thank:

Vinnie and Karen for providing brekky for all the rats, top job!
And Zippa, thanks mate for loaning me your spare jacket. It was a perfect fit, and i was able to return it to you without any more damage than it had when you gave it to me! I couldnt find you towards the end so i left it with your bike. Hope it was still there when you got back from wherever you were!

And a final thankyou for any one i forgot to mention!

Man, this sounds like an award acceptance speech!!

i missed meeting you 2!!! ill try harder to catch up with everyone at the next track day. the bbq wasnt really hugely publicised, but i think it was a big success. we will endeavour to put on a bbq at oran park and wakefield in future to save people either getting ripped off at the canteen, or bringing food. and ours will be a loit more reasonably priced. cant do it at eastern creek as they get the shits with ya bbqing on their site...

Ive posted up a new thread for all first time track riders. Shane suggested it to me, and i thought it was a great idea, me just having my first track day and all. Feel free to add in your own memories of your own first experiences. Allow about 10 minutes to read my post. I tried covering everything from start to finish.
On ya Shane for the good suggestion!

Thanks for a great day guys. Was nice to finally get to the track & meet as well as ride wit ha few of you. I honestly can't remember wh oI met during the day but I am sure there will be plenty of more chances in the future.

No probs about the jacket Black Iyce, glad to see you out there in some decent gear. All the Illawarra guys seemed to have a ball again with only one little mishap that just involved turn 2, plenty of dirt & a rider that feels like he fell down some stairs today. He was otherwise fine & continued riding the very next session :ninja: Might be because he was on a Kawaka :lmao:

A few pics of some members taken by Skipp from the Illawarra Riders group.

It isn't so much the rip off at the canteen that bothers me, as much as the quality of the food. Completely inedible, and they still charge a shit load. I'd happily pay a shit load for something I could actually stomach.

Good on RATS for sorting out this ongoing problem with food on track days. Thanks to the organisers of the day and the food and I look forward to meeting a few more of you at the next one.

Nice pic Zee, I'm not too sure who is behind you. Got any more pics?

Nah, sorry mate. Zippa posted up all the pics Skipp took. He's not bad with the ol' SLR. :ayyy: Hopefully that bloke in the high vis vest took a few..........I never saw him take aim :headshake:

Wardy, sorry I couldn't speak in the morning. It was a pretty hectic. I was trying to solve a fuel problem on a mates RGV first thing and running out of time to get him out in his first session. And I still hadn't even sorted out my shit yet. I quickly through the gear on, adjusted the tyre pressure, started it and go. I was the last out, didn't even let 600 warm up or myself:eyecrazy: I don't remember that first session :confused1: So, sorry if I didn't seem interested - I was a little busy. Catch up next track day :ayyy:

thanks to EVERYONE who was out there including the spectators for putting on an awsome day once again, and yes, it was good to see poyda liz and yella again, been a while, maybe a little to long hey peoples...lol, and i gotta say today was much better then when i rode there on my old crap heap kwaka:lmao: with it slipping outta 2nd.
and i didnt know what sort of times were good around there until bigdog overheard i got a couple of 1:20lap times and told me that they were verry respectable so i'm not gonna argue, and A grade was alot more of a cleaner group apart from the guns, that like to shove it up inside which i also enjoyed doing back to them:lmao:
oh yeah, ZIPPA i dont know how the hell you get that 400 moving so damn quick:confused1: but well done mate, gave me a run for my money through those corners.

thanks again to everyone for yet another top day, and hope to see you all again on the 25th at E.C:ayyy:
