Awesome... Bike newbie, I don't feel like an idiot asking what are they, something suspension related I guess after reading zenos...:)

i think they are eccentrics to make your swingarm mount adjustable..
personally i feel that its another gimmick unless your doin 1.36 at ec...but they sure is puuurty:D
they make them for the tl cause they handle so bad that this will make them slightly betterer!!!

Yep, Al got it! Offset swing arm eccentric's for a K5/K6 thou.

They are supposed to give more rear end grip and hopefully reduce my rear tyre wear but that might be right fist related too until I drop a tooth on the front sprocket.

I wont know 100% what exact benefits it gives as im switching from PP's to racetec's, then getting some zeno valve work done and the eccentric's fitted.

The 07 R1 has these fitted standard.

Unfortunately I wont know if they will "better my lap times" as I haven't been to EC on the K6.

I dont think I can justify them on the track anyway as im a bit of a noob but they are going in my current bike which is usually used at a moderately fast road pace. There might be a 99 r1 as a R/T bike soon but maybe a wrecked K5/K6 which technically eliminates my need to pay an extra years rego just so I can ride to the track ;-)

My bikes now got more rear preload and less at the front and first thing I noticed at a moderate pace is that the rear has less grip- assuming it was from the associated ride height change or change of weight distribution.

But since it was sliding/stalling into corners before I take this as a safer compromise and the parts are being fitted after being suggested by james/zeno along with his valving.

This is mainly because the bike wouldnt hold line powering out of a corner, I knew it had a tendency to run wide on the gas but now it doesnt that badly, in fact the rear moves out so the limit of exit speed is how ballsy you want to go with the rear end instead of how far you can push the front before you need to set up for the next corner (nb road riding). There might be a slightly better balance for my pace but without knowing exactly what im doing and other negative's associated, im betting there is more speed to be found in my riding then a slight change in balance. I feel its just going to "shift" where im "pushing it" during a corner then actually improve my overall speed through a corner.

The way I personally see this mod- from what I have been told, im not going to count on it for outright grip at max speed (as I dont believe im pushing the bike that hard). But more for more consistent and reliable grip as the tyres either:
a) start to go off
b) get greasy as they start to wear out
c) get a bit better tyre life and 1:1 tyre changes (maybe this is optimistic)

Considering its a road bike and there is less heat and grip on the street, im hoping it will benifit me more on the street then on the track as we all know how liter bikes like to sodomise tyres... :doggy:

Yeh..Yoshimura make complete Kits including headstem inserts to change the rake as well. Busa's ,Tiller's & Gixxers all use a similiar system with these components.

Jace buy a milling machine & lathe for you garage & I'll come round & make you any part you want from billet (my first trade was toolmaker). I wish I had access to machine tools like I used too & I did run a machine shop which had CNC equipment :(

Oh anybody reading this that has access to a lathe (not a bloody hobby lathe) & mill please let me know, willing to either do some work to pay for use of equipment or make some billet parts for you.

Not 100% sure.......but I know this because Suzuki's race/test bikes are set up differently to thier road bikes useing these components for obvious reasons.

But for the general public they set the bikes up to the specs that they feel is safe for the average rider,to stop us from killing ourself...haha
