Pic of 05 R1 front installed to a VTEC, the oil cooler is hanging at the moment because still installing but there is enough room to mount without much problem.

Only parts & some tinkering with oil cooler bkt's but just about bolt on with the right parts. The VFR can use the CBR929/954 triple clamps & only changes trail by 5mm which you counter act with jacking the rear a tad. These triple clamps allow you to fit RC51(SP1/SP2) or R1 forks any others are really to short.
Birdman, I'll just get you drunk on Turkey you will pass out, in the morning your bike will have changed. If I didn't have R1 forks & want something again different you would see a grown man cry.

Does my mix of SP2/ZX10R/636 shock parts count as a project on my 636? :lmao:

Did you use your SP2 cartridges in your forks?

So why would you want to install the front end off an R1 to a VFR?

Because Honda are obviously not going to build a new VFR with 21st Century features so Roy's going to do it for himself.
Onya, Roy!

Nope, just the stock 636B1 jobs - which are an anomaly for Kawasaki; i.e. they have an excellent construction, utilising better materials and piston designs than any of the other models. They even got the springs balanced! (why did they go wrong on the 2005??). 03/4 fork just require some careful reconfiguring, as the stock settings will tend to cause t-slaps.... Combine this with the solid rear-end - as in feckin wrongly hard, it was a crap bike really (balance n handling-wise); and why I wanted it too!!! :lmao: ...challenges are nice! ...and past prjects for customers have proven these can be fantastic handling bikes! (even go a bit!)
However, and in the spirit of project-ship, the Gixxer K8 25mm cartridges will be being tested in the same fork as soon as I have the time needed to re-dimensionalise them! :eyecrazy: :) (i.e. length needs adjusting... )

More ridged
Proper compression, rebound with adjustments
Better brakes
Same reason you fit a after market shock to the rear on any bike, to make it better :ayyy:

....motorcycles unlike "human animals" and "animal beings" transplanting do not necessarily suffer the same "microbe" related symbiotical woes - and so our playground is way more rewarding (less rejection) than attempting to stuff the pigs heart into ya gran's bridge playing mate!
(yay for bikes!)
