But in all seriousness, the Australian bike industry is going through what the car industry went through years ago, charging people too much until enough complaints got the laws were changed so that any licensed mechanic can service a car under warranty, the proviso being that genuine parts are used in the service

I believe castle hills MC will do it approx 20% cheaper then a dealer and it wont void your warranty

yep id believe that. I did my own 6K service. Just pay for parts and the job is done as quick as a shop.

Im a licenced light vehicle mechanic with over 10 years experience!
Its only a oil and filter change and check lube and adjust the rest!

Im pretty sure there is more to it then that. Your manual should have specific details.

I was informed a while ago, that you need to be a MC mechanic with MA licence. Im sure your capable of doing it but for warranty purposes, thats what they need.

Mate I know its shit.... but your probably better forkin out the $410 just in case your bike goes pop in the near future. Wouldnt you hate it if the bike gave up & you found out your warranty was void cos you did your own oil change! Poyda is right, the industry has us bent over & leave you very little options.

Or you can take a punt, do it yourself & pray to the holy mother of reliability.

Any licenced M/C mechanic can do your service for you and not void your warranty, so pick up the ph and let your fingers do the walking, should near half that price elsewhere. But in reality, chances of anything going majorly wrong mechanically in two yrs, is next to none !
( aside the fact that you only clocked up 6K kms per year :p )
