I put this here but might be better under track days but because I suck at anything involving fiberglass/bog/paint I tend to look for others to do these jobs for me.

As Kirbster had a little rest at OP 6th I have to patch some race glass but going back to the manufacturer or a normal panel shop is a nightmare I don't need. So I have found a mobile fiberglass person that isn't to far from me anyway who will be fixing the race glass for me.

He just does fiberglass nothing else so if he does a good job I will post up his details for others who might be like me & just buying all the gear to do a simple job can cost more than someone setup already.

This will be interesting to see. I have no interest in getting covered in fibreglass fibres and resin so someone who can do it cheap will be good

fibreglass can be easy if you know what your doing, If you dont it can be a friggin messy nightmare! Its not that expensive but also not all that fun!
Probably a wise move to get someone else to repair it roy, r u gonna touch up the paint or just leave it as is?

Hey Roy is it a lot more expensive to buy new panel(s) from Racers Edge ??

You'd hope so.

Fiberglass isnt hard to work with, and with the weave mats you buy you dont get crap all over you... get away with most small repairs for around $20 of product, but if this guy does a good jpb on tricky bits like tabs and fastener points then it's be tops.... I could never get those sections to last.

pm sent :)

I just go nuts when it comes to body work, I can do everything else but painting , fiberglass, bog, etc is my criptanite, I just pain suck at it. I'm a tradesman that believes you use the right tools for the job & when it comes to painting etc, I'm a tool.

So it is the one industry that can get my hard earned money off me for something I can't do, but why when you give your stuff to any painter 2 weeks always becomes 4.

my mate had his bike bits at the painters for over a year!

Let us know how you go zRoyz cause I need the fairings on my bike touched up, then I'll send them off for a fresh coat of paint.

Was thinking of giving it a go myself, but sounds like a bit of a headache and I don't have patience for fiddly shit.

Heres a little write up on DIY fiberglass repairs from sport rider.

P.s. the respirators are cheap.. like $20 or upwards so.. worth buying one if your going to do this.
