I'll preface this post: I've had an absolutely crap day.

So i've just read the thread about Buying track day Pics.

$10 bucks for however many pics is a pretty good price campared to what that JPM clown is asking, and the fact you manage to get good shots is an added bonus, again as opposed to what JPM are offering.

I have the following questions, seeing as the original post was merely the exchange statement: pics for money.

Firstly, will there be other corners apart from T2 featured. I'm already indebted to Lyn for getting the great snaps of me at the last track day, knee down :ayyy: and there were three pics sent to me. So i no longer need pics of me on T2.

Secondly, will there be preview pics available? Just like JPM and all those other ripoffs they offer a preview with a dirty great watermark in the middle. Only a fool buys something sight unseen. Before you say anything about me rubbishing Lyn's photographic talents, read point one again if you've forgotten.

Finally, what if you're a non member on a RATs track day, Will the pics be available? They are already paying more just for the spot in the garage.

i suppose i've made this post for the simple fact that "admin" have basically stated that the pics that were once taken for free by a freind will now be charged for with no explanation of services provided or anything else apart from fund raising for the site and photographer (which are both valid reasons).

Admin/mooderasers feel free to do whatever you feel necessary to this post. Just stickin' it to the man/woman when required. :ayyy:

P.S. Where's the damn green kwaka smiley, the site has gone down hill since it was removed. :p

Firstly, will there be other corners apart from T2 featured. Yes

Secondly, will there be preview pics available? Yes and pics that are thought not to be of superb quality will not be posted

Finally, what if you're a non member on a RATs track day, Will the pics be available? Generally speaking no

Be assured Poyda that the quality of the Photos will be superb.
Better quality than the last one that was sent to you.
Lyn purchased a lens over the Xmas break and it is a quality piece of equipment.

If your not a member then no, obviously you can't see the forum & photos if you aren't a registered user.
What do you mean by no valid explanation? The two you quoted are valid enough but also do you know lyn has just bought an image stabilising lense for $999?
I thought 10 bucks for all the photos taken of you during the day while she sits there in the sun all day was a fair bargain anyway..

If your not a member then no, obviously you can't see the forum & photos if you aren't a registered user.A non member obviously has a contact in the group, who can see the pics. I'm trying to get a freind to come out for a ride, but he won't be a regular rider. He'll be on my bike but becasue he's not a member there will be no pics of him?

What do you mean by no valid explanation? The two you quoted are valid enough but also do you know lyn has just bought an image stabilising lense for $999? I do now. And that's what should have been in the original post. "image stabilized ultrasonic lens." ???? WTF technical jargon If it had read "NEW image stabilising lense that will blah blah blah It would have explained to everyone why this service is so much better now. Just like any service being offered, I want to know why i should pay for something that used to be free. I know that sites cost money to run and i have no problem whatsoever in contributing to this fantastic world we have, but if it was just a case of someone walking around the track taking pics then selling them. Hell I'll be borrowing a camera and selling pics too and donating half the funds to RATS. Damn it i'll post them on OSB just for shits and giggles :p

I thought 10 bucks for all the photos taken of you during the day while she sits there in the sun all day was a fair bargain anyway.. Third line of my post. I'm not quibbling over price, just the manner in which the post was written.

I'm not trying to be a knob, although sometimes (usually) i manage to do it without trying, but back in the dim dark days of 2006 when the idea of a NSW based ride group was being thrown about, and even when the original RATS site first started up, the main point was that the site was run by member for members and everybody has the right to voice an opinion, and that all I'm doing, and thats why i love being a RAT :ayyy:

Oh and :ninja: :mod_smilie_rockwoot

Good point.....Thats why I said generally. We have a guy that rides with RATs called Sin. Poor bugger hasn't even got internet access but he is as keen as the rest of us. To exclude someone under those circumstances would be simply wrong. Same goes for you mate. He will have access to them via you.

I agree, if it was just a case of cashing in, it would be pretty ordinary.
That last lot of pics you got Poyda were pretty good quality.
The ones we will offer for that nominal fee will be of superb quality because of the equipment being used.
And I can assure you of this. No one is going to get rich out of this.
The goal is to raise about $300.00 a year and all proceeds will be put back into this site for further development.:ayyy:
