During the week for the past 2-3 weeks there have been some major road
works from PITS (Pie In The Sky) to the bottom of the hill of about
800m.

All week I have been waiting at the flagmen stops and doing 40km
speeds throughout the zones. Most the flagmen have been pretty cool
and friendly to riders.

Mostly this week loads of riders came into RWs complaining about some
over zealous RTA Supervisor who has been getting aggro at the riders.
Has this happened to anyone here?

Thursday I heard he was threatening to impound some bikes and was
yelling and swearing at riders. A few other riders said they were
hassled by him also. Seems he was on some power trip.

Today I got chased by him. I stopped at PITS. He started threatening
me, demanded my license, refused to give me HIS details and was
swearing loudly in front of PITS staff and their customers! He was
being a total jerk and even an old man of 70 came up and said to me to
report him, gave me his card and said he wants to be a witness.

Anyone else having experienced this guy, 5'10", fair hair, goatie, RTA
flouro vest, please report him online

I can't believe the luck I have with police and rta up there.

It is correct unfortunately..Know a guy that is stop/slow operator and they have the power to enforce speed limits in roadworks areas.. One call to cops from them with your details and your gone.. SUX but true

That acually is the entire opposite of true. The only person that can give you a fine is a police officer. And they cant book you because some joe nobody said you were speeding. That is not evidence of any kind. Otherwise you could just write down number plates(or whatever) and get 1000 people fined everyday.

How ever, the speed zones posted at work sites ARE COMPLETELY ENFORCEABLE! you will be fucked up by an officer if you are caught speeding in one. (usually without lube)

you don't know how wrong you are,i just completed my green card and traffic control certificates 2 weeks ago and if on stop/slow duty and a vehicle does'nt comply,then the controller has the power to take the vehicles particulars and call the police and have them booked.ring the rta or the police and confirm this if you like but why would it be in both courses.

Just conversely mate.... If this offending person took the notice to court (on a not guilty plea)... I would love to see what evidence the issuer would have to give....

I had a trouble with one of them in a city, some 3-4 years ago,
was riding my bike inside of witches hats cause all traffic was blocked,
and the idiot, jumped on front of me, blocked my way, I almost came off my bike but still kept going, was so pissed off with him, whilst passing the last witches hat, I tryed to kick it with my leg, but it was full of cement !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guys are such pricks, if I was going to use my fairings instead of my leg, that night I would crash my bike for sure :mad:

I think you'll find that they can call the cops if you disobey their stop/slow sign, i.e. proceed past them when they have the stop sign out. But that is it. Cause a copper can't even fine you for speeding if they dont have a radar just by looking at you. They need to follow you for a certain amount of time and record their speed whilst passing judgement points on the side of the road, for instance a telegraph pole or a tree, to make sure they are going the same speed as you. So for some dude with a lollipop to look at you and decide whether you were speeding or not, hard to believe....

this guy is also not above the law,is he rta or a private traffic control worker,ring the rta and or the police and report him.also workcover would love to here about him.
