hey all, I just moved to sydney, rode down from brisbane the last couple of days but on the way I wrote off my 636 so actually getting to my new house took a lil longer than expected and involved a lot of swearing, a trip in a tow truck + a rescue mission from some mates who ended up driving 5 hours total to collect me from my little misadventure...

pure idiot stuff... a corner took me by surprise, fucked up pace + entry, too hot too wide, rear slid out at a desperate lean angle and I lowsided, bike hit the armco resulting in "significant" damage to the frame (and everything else) I slid + tumbled + landed on a nice soft patch of cushy leaf litter, couple of scrapes + bruises but nothing worth mentioning. it's only money now, comprehensive insurance rocks, thinking new bike thoughts shortly. worst part was, after a couple of months of strugglin' with my bike, I had only just made friends with it again, then bang squack, game over...

pics posted when I could be fucked. -J.

Shittttttt.....

Hard luck, but it's always the way, when a few things go for the good you get SLAMMED with the bad.

Glad you're ok and i hope the insurance and new bike don't give you anymore needed greif.

Like I told you before, it was really nice of you to let me do an extra lap of the mountain, but you could have just pulled over :p. That said, I was so glad to hear that you were ok when the bloke called me, I was expecting you to not be that far behind, so i was starting to get really nervous when I finished my smoke and you hadn't showed up, and then my phone rang and I got *really* nervous.

I still reckon we could have made it back 2-up on the CargoBarge(tm) though.

Hey Jaimie girl, that's not good news at all.

You're okay and that's the main thing.

If you're interested, I know of an almost brand new 636 up for grabs. Let me know.

There's never a good crash, is there. But the main outcome is that you got up and walked away. Now that's a good thing ! :ayyy:

Should be able to get a new 636 on the road for $13500 or less at the moment. Or wait for the new six to arrive in Feb. Your bike may end up being my new track weapon if it ends up at the right salvage auction.
