You have a 1/6th ??? Arent the HRC's 1/5th ?

I loved it on the R1, really made it easy to get all the way on the gas at the track, I wouldnt bother if its for street though.

If its for a CBR then I can show you the installation guides that detail it step by step.

$115......Oh its got HRC stamped on the bag, makes sense now.

You might want to look at these.

Of course it's on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Motorcycle-throttle-cable-grips-Moto-R-KTM-Red_W0QQitemZ350032826969QQihZ022QQcategoryZ32628Q QtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262)

I know a few people with these on their track bikes and they have no probs at all. I know they work with single cable throttles, not sure about twin cable setups

dunno bout those 28 dollar ones, seem to be too cheap to be true, dont wont to run the chance of it sticking down EC straight, into t1, the thought makes me quiver..... all for saving a couple of bucks......

From memory ...I had a conversation a while back with Madmax, who did tinker with his throttle grip too... and was very happy with the result. Can't remember what brand he used, but it was a simple procedure.

Love my quick pull on the Gixxer........well worth the investment but I agree with the JasonBW, waste of time for the road.......

Yer have done it to all my bikes as have a wrist problem so struggle to get even 3/4 throttle standard
just modify you standard one you can get a 1/5 out just by adding some pvc tube by cutting and the sleaving you throttle tube or if it was a gixxer by just fitting an r1 04 throttle tube :ayyy:

Exactly what I did to my 675 works a treat and it dint cost me a cent, although it doesnt have HRC stamped on it either!

You can also clue a length of cable tie, or similar material to the throttle tube under where the cable will go. 10mins - free mod.

the R1 fits for the gixxer. Not too sure if its the current one will do it still or have a few yars back now.

Gixer, it depends on how you reset your hand on the throttle, if you're finding that after using your full range of movement in your right wrist and you're still not at full throttle then this mod is for you, if you can get to full throttle without having to re-adjust your grip each time, then don't buy, or comment, on the 1/5th or 1/6th throttle mod.

then don't buy, or comment .
No, I wont buy, but, "dont comment", ?, get real mate, its a forum and unless mistaken, its what ya do :p ;).

Oh, yeah, was only testing to see honesty, as i have ridden many bikes that had it :)

My opinion is unless your bike suspension wise is setup very well its very easy to get on the gas to early out of an apex.

jasonbw
13-03-2008, 09:49 PM
on that point, I wonder how many bikes that go out on track with riders like us (not race gurus) actually have a decent suspension setup?? What'd be a fair guess? 5% ???

lilninja
13-03-2008, 10:19 PM
ide say about 10% jase, I think more and more people are learning that suspension is the key to going fast not just the HP and with everything so adjustable these days more people are dableing in it!

where you at in Narellan lilninja? I grew up in Camden and have a mate thathas a ship in the towncentre.

as for suspension, I'd say around 5-10%, but in saying that, many of those 10% will say they have theirs dialled in coz their mate races and he turned some dials and it's way better now. LOL
