After the nasty crash at Oran Park, the VFR400 suffered broken bits.

Just a few questions for the rebuild, what forks are compatible with the NC30?
Main Parts-
Need new front forks.
Need new Fairing - (considering ebay fairings) (wouldnt mind finding ones from wreckers)

The VFR400 RVF400 NC30 NC35 etc are more or less the same bike & the parts are interchangeable.

Forks maybe harder to find as the VFR400 is popular as a race bike so parts like forks are used up in crashes but these guys import parts for the VFR400 so maybe a help http://www.rbimports.com.au/

Note when buying stuff from the UK, it is damn expensive for shipping. Cost about twice as much for shipping as something equivalent from the US

I know Garry at Bike Wreck in Chipping Norton has at least 1 wrecking VFR400 in there, from memory the engine was toast but the bike was otherwise only minor damage - forks should be fine if he still has them.

Give him a try on 97268199 or Unit 17/23 Childs road, Chipping Norton.

Called up a few places including RB Imports noone had front forks.
Might have to use another front end on it, not sure whats compatible.
Ideally would like a NC30 VFR400 front end, just got to wait and see.

Anyone had experience with ebay fairings ?? Good/ Bad ??

Zeno would be able to answer this question,

Are the forks the same as what is on the VFR-400 to the CBR-250RR????

Don't you just need the staunchions? Your sliders should be salvageable (?)

So, this frees you up to look at Firestorm and CBR600FP-W fork too, and then adapt lengths to suit, non? (staunchion and cartridge metering rod lengths)

Anyways, food for thought mebbe - or just my 0.01p :)

non

CBR400RR NC23, 29 and CB-1 NC27 (plus CB400SF), CBR600 (92-97) and Firestarter all carry a 41mm frock - not too hard to adapt and mix'match...

Im not sure exactly what you mean ill do some research into that.
I gather what your saying is i can get for example a Firestorm and CBR600FP-W fork and modify it to fit on the bike ??

Yup, I can chop and re-thread them to fit into you "bottom bits" - however, this does mean spending on bushings and seals and the labour to machine/thread stuff; and I am not suggesting this to be the best route to a new front end; but if the going is tough, and there is a lack of other pissibolities, then yeah it could be considered, if you get what I mean?

Ill look around, Truimph just Pm'd a website which looks like it might have them.
www.bikepartssydney.com.au

If all else fails i can buy any of the above forks and adapt it ??
Which would you recommend if i cant get the nc30 ones are they all similar ???

NC30, as you should know, come in 2 guises: one as shuttle valve design (crap), t'other as cartridge type... at least with the others (especially post 1995) you deffo get a cartridge.... Post 1995 Honda's largely use HMAS pistons in their cartridges, which are damned good if re-worked correctly!

I suppose you also need to consider and discern, ponder as to whether this fork is staying as stock too!
