Would really like to hear him turn it around and get back into racing, the man has the talent, no doubt. Still I doubt he did what they think he did.

A perfect example of someone with all the talant in the world, but no grey matter between the ears..
The guy is a great rider & could have been a world champ. But as a person a complete F**KWIT

News Report: Anthony Gobert Tells Australian Court He Is Addicted To Heroin

According to a news report by Rebecca Senescall published in the February 1, 2006 edition of the Camden Advertiser newspaper in Camden, Australia, racer Anthony Gobert admitted in court to being a heroin addict and blamed his addiction for a string of traffic arrests that have resulted in his license being revoked until November, 2010.
Gobert has also been sentenced to 300 hours of community service and fined $600.
During Gobert's most recent court appearance, according to the report, Gobert's lawyer said Gobert demonstrated "no regard for the law" but blamed the behavior on his heroin addiction. Gobert was in court after being caught speeding and driving with a suspended license, and explained that he was seeking more heroin at the time.

Can you believe that once upon a time Anthony Gobert and Matt Mladin, lived practically down the road from each other, went to the same high school (on the same bus), had the same MotoX start to their biking career and are 3 years apart in age. Funny how life turned out so differently for them.

Yeah I remember seeing The Go Show & Kim Ashkenazi racing each other at our local MotoX track when they were 14. I was absolutley certain we were watching at least 1 future world champ.
Pity they both ended up in a downward spiral. Last I heard Ashkan was in a British jail on drug charges + a few other unsavory activities. :rules:
No matter what happens, the Go Show will always remain as one of the biggest talents this country has produced. Seeing his performance on a heavy, under powered ZX7R, backing it in (before it was cool & just freakish) on his way to SBK wins really was an amazing feat (not even mentioning the Bimota victory). :spank:
They were both & probably still are great riders, just a pity neither of em fulfilled their potential.

I'd hardly call him a fukwit as a person. If you have spent any time with the guy away from "parties" , you'd know he is really a very quiet, polite and nice guy. Drugs do bad shit to people, and if it is true what happened, then you'd have to think he was on a big one to do it, coz the Gobert I know you just wouldn't think that is possible. The hardest thing for him I rekon is escaping being Anthony Gobert, he just can't do that and he needs to if he wants to move on and stay away from this shit.
as for Ashkan, wondered what happened to him, I remember when I first left school , I was elling insurance, and was it his ol' mans house updating theirs........ just before he was gonna be anyone, there were trophies freakin everywhere. Sad to hear also.
