View Full Version : Greenslips
My greenslip is due on the Z1000. I received a quote from the current insurer QBE of $480.
Can anyone recommend any cheaper insurance companies that I can get a quote from.
Cheers
Bart :ayyy:

one of our customers told me that shannons was the cheapest place they could find, and she apparently looked at alot of the insurance mobs. So it probably wouldnt hurt to get a quote from them.

It's a fucking outrage! My greenslips went up $200 bux this year for no reason.
I let the rego on everything lapse..

Nothing seemed to affect my quote except for my postcode. My current Cammeray (metropolitan) postcode fetched about $692 and with the same details for Jerrabomberra (classed as regional or country) was $491.

Fuck NSW and their ways of robbing the average working joe.
Was sent mine the other week and the Green slip was $600+ and my rego was $90 on top of that. :wtf1:
My rego here is only $220. That is it. No green slips :mod_smilie_rockwoot
And I had the option of getting it for 6 months too

Always check this site and then ring to confirm the 2 lowest quotes. Seems that each year they all change, add price etc- don't just pay the one sent just because it's easier. Also, get quotes each year for comp. insurance too for same reasons.

Always had mine with NRMA because they were cheapest-until this year $660. I found that site and checked it out and 2 were $200 cheaper. Ended up with GIO for $397.

no such thing as a cheap greenslip
its all bloody highway robbery
they say they have gone up because rider get more severe injuries than people in cars, thing is i dont know any greenslips that actually cover the rider (only passengers) and most of the time its cause a car caused it so shouldnt car ones go up and bike should be cheaper

If you know someone who lives over the Nepean River here in Penrith its classed as country so that a bit cheaper. Or the same goes up the central coastand im guessing the gong is classed as country.

I just bought mine. I phoned a shit load of them. The prices went as high as $689. In the end the best I got was Allianz for $450. I've also had an at fault claim in the last 3 years so I think that pushed the price up a bit.

guys the major reason for increase in CTP is due to the MCIS levy being increased this year.
Bikes have been slugged with a 200% - 300% increase on this levy while cars have had a decrease.
MCC is looking into why there is such a variation in the CTP prices much like their current look into etags in Sydney.

so what your saying is, nothings gonna happen, cause no-ones heard squat from them about the ETags for bikes, and as such, i think were all just buggered to cop the higher prices while cage drivers get better deals:cursing:

Not saying that at all - MCC is looking into both issues at this point.
NSW Gov says that there is no issue with the current etag system (which is Bullshit).
The CTP issue is insurers profiting cause noone holds them accountable and the relevant governing parties dont give a crap about motorcycles/ists
MATTK6

i totally agree with you on both points there mate:ayyy:
but it does shit me to tears to know that the governing bodies dont give 2 shits about motoryclists.
The way i see it, motorbike= less pollution, less traffic congestion.
Cars= more pollution, biggest cause of traffic congestion due to people not knowing how to drive them, which therefor, by everyone sitting in one big spot with engines running, causes even more pollution.
Yet the government is meant to be all about reducing green house gases:confused1: :lmao: :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
