The penny dropped when I went on track with 42 psig in my rear tyre (as reccomended by some mags) and zRoYz told me to be very scheptical of the advice the mags give. I have been weary since, and I've been noticing more and more bullshit all the time.

Agreed..

No offence to the writers that occasionally lurk here, but, how the hell can they form an opinion on a bike they have ridden, what, two-three days ?. Yes, its enough to give first impressions, and usually a little more, but for the love of god, I have over 3000ks on the 08 R1 and still getting used to it, no chance of riding all it has to offer, not now, not never ( certainly not enough for the write that outs these guys :) ) so how the hell someone can do a write up, then suggest "bike of the year" from basically a test ride ? beats me, but its borderline a blowarse who can put pen to paper.. :lmao: They shouldnt be viewed as write up on a bike I think, but, as a how much balls the writer had, and how well he can put pen to paper to fill in for lack of balls, cause certainly they wont be riding all it has to offer, in three days no less :lmao:

By the way, the 08 cbr thou, in Europ anyway, has issues yet to be seen in this country, four have lost third gear, two have ceized motors due to drinking oil at an alarming rate after second service...and that's just the start of it I reckon. Sure, not enough to warrant a call back on them or to say all have same issues, but fuck me, it would be sending alarm bells if I was an owner..

I'll resurve the right to pass judgement after I have the chance to ride one.

I dunno, for a Suzuki guy I really like the yellow/black CBR1000RR and I don't even like yellow bikes. There was a nice one in Actions Parramatta today with a trick Yoshi R77 slip-on.....mmmmm
Anyone got a lazy $19K they can lend me ;)

I refuse to ride one because even if I hate both colors my will power sucks & suddenly my bank account would be missing allot of money & the wife would be applying for a gun lic.

I'm going to see what 09 brings & then maybe change my stable.

I`m keen to see what the K9 gixxer will be like....K8 750 looks awesome and the 1000`s usually follow suit.

I'd say that would be the better bet...

This bike of the year, that I, Mr Numptie himself, who took for a decent ride (old rd), and was left unimpressed and wondering wtf the hype is all about, is well, read on. Issues are popping up already, and those who got the 07 model at runout prices ( Vinnie) did well ! The difference in dollars between the two, if where to be spent on the 07, the 07 would kick its arse to kingdom come..

I went up to WSID with Dave last night. Heard you will be at least another 2 months, possibly even a permanent move to the USA with what they offered you.
