Circuit Breakers Race School May 10th

Posted this "Feeler" up on the illawarra site tonight to gauge interest

Since we have a few rider's participating regularly in track days on this forum, I was thinking who would be keen in learning some race craft.
Circuit Breaker's has proven and leading motorcycle riders offering tuition. Names like Kevin Magee, Shawn Giles, Josh Brookes, Damian Cudlin, Daniel Stauffer, Mark Atchinson Russell Holland and Glenn Allerton.
The dates that I propose are: May Thursday 10th. I Choose these dates because the climate is more comfortable in leathers.
Price: Normally $295.00 + Transponder Lap timing, Including One on One instruction, Class room theory, On track displays, 6 X 25 minute track sessions, Lunch, water and refreshments all day. Now reduced to Rats Discount: 5+ Riders : $265 per rider + FREE Lap Timer hire.
At the moment I won't be doing anything. Just putting this out as a "feeler".

sounds good to me. never done a race school before. what r the prerequisites?how fast should one be?

doesnt matter how fast ya are...therewas 2 groups last time i did it. qikker than 1 min 50 and slower than 1 min 50. they group ya after the first session and ya go from there....its a fun day with plenty of track time and all of it timed...

it says there that one group is for new to the track and slower speeds at the track...so i dont reckon youd have a prob if ya havent been before...
i reckon it would be a good way to learn the track, rather than goin out cold turkey at a track day!!

as of 9.02am i was a defintite starter for this....as tickets sold out while i was on hold on phone until 9.16am.. so wasted 14 mins on hold as tickets were sold out:confused1: :( ..

so was going to transfer $$ today for Race school..

5mins it's just a transponder (little square box), it comes with a bkt & zip ties so the only problem you have is finding somewhere to place it.

straight from the battery mate...the wires should be loing enuf..
this is why i bought the 6V one...super easy to fit!!:D

no they are 12v....
my 6v unit used 2 batteries inside it so i dont have to wire it up...but its pretty simple mate. i can do it for ya if ya at one of the track days in the future. i always bring my soldering iron...

Bugger, I didnt know about RATs and started a small group, got 5 going so far under the group name of 'mates'....

In order to join your lot what do I tell the others to register a group name as.. "RATs" ?? Anything else I need to know.

The calendar is good because it allows us to see how much interest there is in a distant trackday or road ride.
It's obviously not a list of people who are coming. If you don't enter your name there then you won't be on the calendar list, duh, mono!

ive done one of these a year or so ago and loved it. learned heaps, got some new lines at ec, and found my times were a bit slower than i expected them to be!! its also a bargain since we got it for $250!!!
also guys cause the numbers are so small, best ya get payments in soon...

Yep, James asked that question on Tuesday at the race school, how many have never seen the track... my two mates hands up and one other guy... no problem...

I watched their progress through the day, they did great, no stress and definately not the slowest, so dont stress about that.

One ended up falling in the 2nd last session, he lost concentration even though he had been pumping water and snacks through himself all day... diabeties (spell?) I suspect was the cause, the typical mind wander. Anyway hes fine.

I would have to say though superbike school would be my pick for the first time track rider, but due to its cost it wont be everyones choice. Just its gentle intro to the track makes you feel real easy.

Slowest I think, though I did slow group the last 2 times and I think maybe I should go up one (to B2).

I'm not sure if the Circuit-breakers will have the same groups as a track day though.

Pay attention to your body, if you start cramping up or losing the clarity you first had then pull out.. lots dont even run on the last session due to that fact.

just checked out the gearing calc, maybe too big of a jump, will try 15/40 next time. Really with my (lack of) riding skill it wouldnt matter much but it just revved out going down the straight.

i had 16/42 on the tl and it was pretty good at ec.
and james confused me a little with his maths as well!!! but on his site it says theres 37 spots booked of 50, which leaves 13:D
but 17 of the 37 are ours, but then he said sumthin about 2o already booked, but then another 15 booked while he was away!!! so in the end i got no fukken idea!:(

Hang on Jase 15/40 gives you a final drive Ratio of 2.66:1 and 16/42 gives you 2.63:1 Not much in it ???? I'll leave mine on 16:42....

yeh dont worry about the pdf's at the bottom. they are just some useless info on how to lap eastern creek and some assosciated propoganda...so read the email guys. ya gotta be there by 8am...fill out the forms when we get there. ya can pick a group on the day depending on how fast ya think ya are but then james will split ya into groups anyway...so dont stress guys that ya didnt get the email!!!

No worries. For anyone who is curious, I went to last circuit breakers race school and it was awesome. They provide more track time than any other track day I've ever been to. Also for the rest of you that are going, I would suggest you start thinking of stuff to ask when you get there. You kind of have to extract the information you want. Obviously there are guys there that can answer anything, but some things that aren't covered in the course content won't be discussed unless you ask.

RAIN don't stress about it even if there MAYBE some. EC has very good drainage & about the only corner on the track to really watch is 7 because water can pool there & don't use cement strip. The big problem is people using slicks with no spare rain or road tyres to use.
