wow, that was painful to sit through!! id hate to go to that guys place for a bbq...... listening to mozart and stuff. i think ill stick with my tyre machine. they didnt say you'd need to go to your local tafe for a certificate in carpentry before being able to manufacture that bead breaker hahaha

when I was young, Dad used to run over the car tyres with the tractor. a hell of a lot faster for car tyres

Have you all considered chipping in for a NoMar or similar?? Shared between say 20 people would make it damn cheap.. like $50 or so... more people makes it cheaper, and you could allow (for a fee) non contributors at track days to use it... eventually the profits could feed back to the original 'chippers' and it'll be a free tyre changer..
This thing is hot... have a look-see, check out the video on it.. FAST and easy, and never does it scrape the rim!!

If theres interest I can help in getting this started?

I'd kick in for a shared tyre changer. Or if someone bought one I'd pay them for the service as I needed it. I'm not sure about the rules at track days though. They may be trying to keep a monopoly on their own tyre service.

craig white does tyre changes for nuthin anyway as long as they are bridgeys. and i think his sign said he charges 10 bux or some nominal fee oif they not bridgeys. yeh they rip ya blind at eastern creek, but if ya get organised and have ya tyres done before ya get to ec, then youll be right. craig works out of his house in the campbelltown area to if ya need tyres fitted outside of oran park track days. if his number aint in his tyre thread, just pm me and ill give it to ya.. i got it in my phone...

We defiantly need to do something about a tyre changer.
Ive spent over $100.00 changing current set of slix and back to road tyres and back again.
It cost me 40 bux in one hit a few weeks ago and if we don`t arrange something soon I`m gunna fork out 1000bux bringing a new set of rims from the US.

I'd be happy to buy and organise the chip in funds, only thing to work out is where a good common area to store it would be... have it close enough that most can just show up... that counts most residence's out hey..? suggestions?

Update: BigB and I got the tyre changer delivered last week, it got bolted down Saturday and I tried it out on my spare rim which is all scratched up.
After about 10 tyre changes I've got it down to 5 minutes to gently (taking my time) change the tyre from fully inflated to fully inflated. (doesnt count mounting it on the bike o'course)
Problem is the steel mount/demount bar isnt designed to be gentle to rims, so its scratching the rim up right now... so I plan on either making my own version of this (http://www.nomartirechanger.com/06DemountBar.html) or wrapping the ball ends of the steel one I have in cotton thread, then soaking in epoxy..an old model airplane trick which will be super strong, slippery and wont scratch the rim up. I hope.... I'll know after the expoy sets in 48 hours
Will write back then with results.
