hey guys i have done a search for this but turned but nadda. so i thought id ask, whats the best way to remove bike decals??
i put them on about 8 months ago and have decided to take them off. as i just want the straight black look, i`m even looking at removing the yamaha tank decals.
iv been told that heat is the best way. so i might buy a hair dryer, i was thinking of a heat gun but think it might melt the plastics.
any thoughts???

Yeah a hair dryer will do it.

some bikes have the decals under the clear, even some models of the same bike will be under clear and some not! Just be careful to check for that first. As you already guessed, heat is the key.

Hair dryer as said already.
As JasonBW saids, watch the clear coat.Obviously you putting on decals yourself 8 months ago, you would know wether or not they are cleared over, but you will find the Tank Decals cleared over pretty much on any bike, but definetly are on the Yamy mate..

Eucalyptus oil or just plaine car polish will get the glue off. Lots of gentle but firm rubbing. Hairdryer or heat gun will make the decals come off easier. As said b4. ive done plenty. If ya want to put a decal on few drops of detergent in a spray bottle with water. Spray a ligfht mist so you can move the decal around a bit and then squize out the bubbles. If left witrh any that cant be budged use a pin to pop the bubble and get the air out.
