Heres a complete rod pin ring and piston set from Terry Sainty's Top Fuel Dragster that I scored today on the way to Eastern Creek Wreckers.
Amazing piece of gear. The rod looks disproportionately big to the piston. The rod is alloy of some grade but the pin is steel. The alloy looking things in the end of the pin bore are just locating plugs that sit under the oil control ring that they use instead circlips. The piston in increadibly heavy. I have another 3 pistons in various stages of siezed and 2 other rods without caps. This one piston puts out 1000hp

There amazing peices of machinery , love standing there watching these guy's in the pits strippig and rebuilding the engines :). Was going to buy a brett stevens clock set into the conrod but he had non left last time i was there. To think these top fuel pump out 7000 to 8000 hp wow.

those alloy rods take a alot of pounding and end up shorter..strange as it may seem
