Does anyone know how to bypass the HISS system on the CBR600RR? No need to post it, you can PM me if you want, but the bike I crashed someone wants to race, and the key is gooooone, getting the ecu and/or key etc done is freakin huge $'s, so if anyone knows how to get around it, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks

My understanding as US models don't have hiss you need a US version ECU & wiring harness. The reason for the wiring harness is the hiss device plugs into our harness with connections to the ECU.
Unconfirmed you can use the AUS harness but you need to know the wiring mods to make which if you think about it you could work out if you had the US & AUS wiring diagrams.

I had this drama with my bike, in the end bought ecu,key and ignition from a wrecker, 500ish, and i am not hiding my keys anymore. :cursing:
if the chip in the key is complete, tape or glue it near or on the antenna and you should be able use a toggle switch instead of the key and barrel.

all of the above is correct

Hey Squirts, you got the detail to mod a 1000RR Aus harness to disable the HISS...(for the HRC ECU) reckon 'someone in the know' would have the 600RR info?
Sumo's got the easy idea tho, hope you have that rfid part of the key.

I heard the same thing... I strapped the working key to the hiss sensor thing, and tried to start the bike with the non chip key I use on my tank. didnt work........

An RFID tag works off passive AC, it's VERY weak and needs to be located right next to the RFID reader, which is (i think) above the HESD unit - near the ignition key slot), gotta be REAL close. If it was next to the right sensor then I guess that key was a dud.
Make sure the ignition key you use is just a plain key without an RFID tag - or use a bypass paperclip :) - two RFID tags near each other interfere with the RFID readers decoding of the signals.

mmmm - i'll try again. but 1 key is def good, as I use it everytime. The other is def a plain jane non-chip key.
the bypass paperclip?? wot do u mean.

Seals, there'd be a way of just connecting the correct ignition wires so you didnt have to use a key (bypass), the ignition key is just a switch... but if you have a good non RFID key then no need to do a bypass of the ignition switch.

Thanks, but is that for an HRC ECU or are talkin in codes here? LOL I don't have the key, and I have the stock ECU.
