Whats the general consensus...? Any one ridden these too back to back in anger , 06 models and up-
From what i can understand R6 wild power, slightly peaky , quick steering requiring to be ridden on pipe,
RR easy torque curve, neutral and well balanced , great brakes typical honda.
Now the real question , Yes the Honda would be easier to ride but how hard are the r6,s to master or are we talikin highside territory or just hard work??

im supprised you are even asking.... stay true.

if u looking at the CBR i would look at a 05 up or 07 up, as the 05 was the model update and then 07 was the next.

I have ridden both several times, 07 R6 and 07 600RR, in my opinion it depends what you will be using it for mainly. Track use only - R6, 90% track and 10% Road R6, anything less than about 40% track get the 600RR. The R6 has bags of power up top but feels very average down low, 600RR is by far a better street bike but can still shread on the track just as well. More comfterbale to.
I'l pick the 600RR any day of the week, but thats just my 2c
Is it for a dedicated track bike or mostly for the road? If it's for the track you've only got to look at the amount of R6's in Superstock and nearly all the front runners are on them.

That's only coz the R6 is winning most of the SS races also, you'll always see that in S/stock, whatever the main series bike is that wins, everyone in S/stock runs out and gets them coz they must be the best. LOL, not saying they're not, it's just not always the case.

Daytona. No, wait, what about a 954? :n:
Just gonna have to ride them to see which one whispers dirty things to ya :ayyy:
I doubt you'll be disappointed in either

I don't think there's that much difference between the two, to be honest, at least on track. I ride the RR, and Specs the R6 and we've had some great battles on track. I would choose depending on what you wnat it for; if it's 90%+ track use, then probably the R6 (although most magazine reviews put the RR above the R6 anyhow), but if you do some road riding then definetely the RR. I test rode both, and no way I could live with the R6 on the road, too much work, all the power is up top.

Specs' R6 is an 05, a bit more torque down low when compared to the 06+... great bike nonetheless.

Well i just walked outta honda dealer and i gotta say two things..............wow they handle , but where the f@$# is the motor- I swear my worked rm 250 was more frightnen:(. It was soooooooooo smooth , beautifully balanced but i did the entire loop in 1st n second gear.It never really got peaky so i can see why they are so confidence inspiring @ the track- i guess these cc loss would take some serious gettin used too as i must be a lazy torque addict:hatter:
Now i totally realise i require two bikes-
On a brighter note i gave the cbr1000 08 a shot ..............holy F$#@@ what a weapon.........It would take a while to come to grips with but what a package, Handled almost as inspiring as the 600 , (but forks felt so much better despite the extra weight) but engine...Nothing i have ever ridden even comes close, If the R1 is faster than that I dont want one :hatter:
Im off to buy flowers for the mrs...........this is gonna need some convincing:lmao:

I think the bulk of the power is in the middle of the rev-range (in a manner of speaking) which is what makes the bike something you can live with on the street. Unlike the R6, where it's all up top and sure, it's more impressive all at once like that but at the end of the day it's no faster.
If you want more torque in 600 and you are not scared of triumphs give 675 a test ride. With few mods my bike kept up with 1000s at OP last weekend and has been able to put on a fair bit of distance on Lucas's cbr600rr (I think 05 model) and Spec's 05 R6.

the bike mate... definitely the bike!:lmao:
Just kidding Nuff, but you have to admit that your bike is waaaaay faster than any other 600. I've seen you pull away from an old R1 in the straight at OP (fat bastard was riding it though) and that was on your first 675. The second one is not a stock 675 anymore...:ayyy:

The rider me = crap, the bike can put on fair bit of distance on the straights and out of corners, but I'm still around 10seconds slower than Specs around OP. I should post up the video tomorrow of me being followed by Specs and Lucas001 while they were showing off to the camera.

My current bike has full TI arrow exhaust and 520 chain with +2 sprocket on the rear. It still need to be dyno tuned for some extra HP.

I don't speak of any particular 'power' ... it's a 600 mate. Purely the distribution of what's there. How long did you ride it for again?

I think they are pretty equal, my bike looses at the top end, so it will lose to a 1000 (and 750) at EC, once it gets to around 200km/h the 1000s start flying away. That was without the exhaust and sprocket, so maybe I will be able to keep up till 210km/h+

It would definitely beat a stock 750... His bike has more than a few mods done to it and the 750 is geared way too tall. I'd say that in a long enough straight the 750 would have him (more hp, longer gearing) but at OP it wouldn't stand a chance either. Lucas001 (600) runs a 520 chain and a -1/+2 set up and he said Nuff was putting 2secs on him on the straight alone. I wasn't there so can't confirm or deny it... but there's a video coming out soon and it should clarify it a little.

I've to say, I like the cbr600 better than r6. I didn't like the peaky power and the wooden brake lever. But for someone who's a better rider than me and can keep the engine on the I can see how the 06-08 R6 would be a weapon.

Well if you are talking about a particular track then thats got nothing to do with how qik the bike is.......a smaller cc bike will be quicker on a tighter track...like the back section at EC is quicker on a 600 then a 1000....
Mr.Ed

I meant OP's straight... sorry! Because it's not long enough for the 750's gearing. EC would be more of a challenge.

on track that can be very deceiving due to entry speed onto the straight. the only real way to prove it is drag strip or all same gear roll on start then go hell for leather at a given start point. even then rider input counts for so much with reaction time were they shift, there weight, etc.
for us av joe's any sports bike is a weapon.

It still keeps pulling past 210, but no where near as fast as 1000s. 750 have more power, I can't argue there and it will start pulling away from me eventually. But how much depends on the length of the main straight.

That's true, I only judge it based on a video I have. Also as a side note, Lucas and Specs are lighter than me by about 5 and 10kg respectively. If it makes any difference.

True. Very true. What we failed to mention is that both Lucas001 and Specs were lapping the track almost 10 secs faster than Nuff and still losing badly on the straight. So either he's awesome on the last turn or that little bike has some serious mambo... My money is on the latter! :lmao:

you might be surprised it has allot to do with how fast the 675 gets onto the straight as there 3 cyl config would have better drive out of corners like V4/V2 do. this is the reason the 09 R1 is creating allot of hype with it's config. ever sat behind a 1098 (V2) out of a corner & watch it drive there like sling shots.

Thats not true Captain. You look of average build for your size mate, and you are tallish.. :ayyy:
Me, Ive never had to worry about that, its the opposite for me actually. I just cant put weight on if I tried, and I have tried, believe me. Have recently realized one thing though, size is no indication of fitness level. I ride a pushy regularly now ( thanx to Clarkey) and realize just how unfit I was, fitness its getting better, but at my age I dont think it will get much better, especially considering I smoke like a f****g chimney :dohsmiley:
As Turtle has said, geta pushy mate, they really do wonders, well it has for me anyway..
