Thread: Glove Recommendations

  1. Glove Recommendations

I love my gloves, but like all my gear, they have a hard life.
I was thinking today, as I was riding down the highway in my trusty Alpinestar SP2's: 'Gee, these gloves are worn in so well I can almost feel the grips on my fingertips'.
Then I realised that my fingers were poking through holes in the leather.

Damn, need to buy new gloves. I though about getting the trusty shoe repairer down the road to sew on some finger patches but then thought better of it when I imagined me desperately clawing the tarmac as I slide belly first off the racetrack.

I'm after your recommendations on gloves with maximum protection and which won't fall apart when I come off at turn 1. I do a lot of road riding and touring too so they have to be sturdy enough to last forever.
    Thanks guys,

    Dave

Afterthought: I went to Sydney City Motorcycles today, the best gloves they had there were some Alpine star super duper GPtech gloves.
300 bucks and they didn't seem to be much better than the GP gloves. The salesman told me that nicky hayden uses them in GP races

i've been using the joe rocket gp2?gpx? gloves and they are super comfy. Have nice little things like external seams. On the road in the hottest months i use the alpinestars summer gloves and they are very cool and feel (thin) awesome. I have crash tested these a few times and got tiny tears on the insides of some of the fingers so they aren't the best for a turn 1 getoff. but i still havent damages my hands.
(My other road gloves you wouldnt be interested in coz they are for canberra winters and it feels like you are holding a coke can not a throttle grip.)
Wants to go bush like Charlie and Ewan did
