    R1 EXUP Tacho Tango

For those with full systems on their R1's, heres a trick item that will replace the Exup motor. I tried making one of these with a circuit board and resistors and stuff but couldnt get all the necessary parts. $100US + shipping

    Heres a reply from Sam
Sam's Servo Sub will work on your 98 R1. In fact, Sam's Servo Sub works on all EXUP-equipped Yamahas from the 1989 FZR1000 all the way up to the new Stratoliner, Raider, WR250 & V-Max!

(Stratoliner ?? heard that name before)

Top find, Mine goes haywire at home and needs a few powerups to get it to start from zero but sorts it's self out on track days. Is this the prob or is it constant

    $194 AUD delivered
a bit ouchy but I soldered it in and it works and finally got rid of that fricken servo motor. Fark knows why Yamaha have to put a fault code in it when its so easy to diagnose an exup fault manually .
The Samanna gizmo is so small I didnt even weigh it.
I tried to make one of these my self from circuit diagrams found on the "NET" but couldnt get just one of a certain "up / down chip" had to buy 100 of them

He has the schematics posted on the web somewhere.. I will find them later

Here is mine sitting next to the hunk of shit exup servo.. havnt heard of any fault codes or tacho needles bouncing tho

Its just gets plugged into the end of the cable that you pull out of the servo motor.. this cable remains wired into the ECU in order not to throw any codes, as the ECU thinks the silly servo is still attached & working.

When I did all this .. there was no slip on or full system in existance (at that time period) that had provisions for plugging the exup flap back into the pipe.. I wasnt ever going to anyways.

I think this gizmo's what I need but unsure where to plug the wires in.My bike is an 02 Extreem racer with a full Acrapovic system( no Yam servo thing) and a race harness. The engine light flashes and the tacho go's haywire but seems to settle with use. Would like to make tacho work properlly if possible
